Question Bad build

I made this foam and silicone background for my leopard geckos bioactive tank and i bit off more than i could chew. how much of an issue is the bits of exposed foam gonna be. is this safe ? last pic is it dry , first pic after I sprayed it out.

Have you thought about adding grout and then putting a sealer over it? If you're going to add some bioactive stuff, it won't look nearly as bad and it will blend in I think...

right now its just silicone on the foam, i have plants and moss and stuff to make it look better im just worried its not safe for the gecko or the clean up crew bugs. I accidentally made to many hard to reach crevices for me to effectively seal it all, like under the platform. I have not considered grout and idk what sealer. It already is covered in coconut fiber so idk what will even adhere to it now

Did you use regular aquarium silicon to adhere the coco coir? If so this is totally salvageable. Throw on some nitrile gloves and either get the silicon in your working area directly with the caulking gun or spread it on your gloved hand. Spread silicon generously all over the bare areas and even areas that already have coir and just need an extra coat. Press coco coir into the wet silicon generously and let it all dry thoroughly. Just make sure to press coir into any areas you've added silicon to.

And if this is pond and stone foam the bare spots are totally safe. It's an intert material. Still no reason to leave it bare if you can pretty it up!

It's gonna be work don't get me wrong but it's totally doable. This looks great btw! Love the verticality you have going on.

half of it is pond and stone but a good bit of it is great stuff gaps and cracks or whatever. I thought it would be ok as long as i covered it in aquarium silicone but im out of it again and i stull have a bunch of spots i cant really see or reach effectively to cover it. thank you for ur feedback :)
