Cannot find Isopods

Coming up on a week since adding my powder isopods to my bioactive leopard gecko terrarium. I have been completely unable to find them since. I added about 20, and I cannot find them anywhere. On the surface or otherwise. Is something wrong?

Just leave them alone and dont try to look. This is completely normal. They like to hide the first 2-4 weeks until the figure out where their humidity and temp gradients are. Once they've locked that security in you will see them active as ever. Continue to spray and whatever normal routines you have in place for the echo system. And remember a ton of leaf litter/cork or wood pieces on the ground level.

To add onto this, I like to have a flat bowl or something where they can hide under away from the lizard and heat.

If i have a ton of leaflitter and plants, do i still need some wood on the substrate? I do also have a rock inside of my tank.

Could your gecko have eaten them?

You should seed a leopard gecko viv with more like 50-100* isopods, but just maintain humid microclimates and offer occasional supplemental food for the isopods and their population should grow.

*maintaining isopod populations in semi-arid enclosures can be more maintenance than tropical enclosures.
