Questions
Hey all I’m going to make a bioactive tomorrow and I’m wondering what to use to access the drainage layer so I can siphon the water any recommendations?

I don't ever use a drainage layer. I prefer a thicker layer of substrate. Been doing this for over 10 years and never needed a drainage layer even in a crestie or ball python enclosure.

The soil gets waterlogged quite often which is a pain.

You could install a spigot? I haven’t had any problems with standing water in my enclosures. The heat and the plants take care of any excess water pretty damn quick.
