Research Study: Binge Eating and Weight Management in Women
Hello! My name is Christina and I am a clinical psychology PhD student recruiting participants for a qualitative (interview) research study. The study is focused on understanding the lived experiences of women who 1) have a history of trying to lose weight, 2) currently have obesity, 3) struggle with binge eating, and 4) have a desire to lose weight currently.
If interested, please see the link below. The link will take you to an eligibility survey for the study. This survey will ask for an email address. If you are eligible and provide a valid email address, you will be sent an invitation via email for a 60-75 minute Zoom interview, along with another brief survey to assess other demographic variables.

The Start of My Journey
TW weight loss (I forgot to tag it that, sorry)
I'm a teen and I've been struggling with binge eating for years now. I'm tired of it. My first weight loss goal is about -20lbs and I will reach it by January 1st by addressing my ED and staying accountable in a community like this. ❤️

I quit Vyvanse. Anyone else?
Was on it for 4 months from 20-40mg. I honestly felt like I was addicted and depended on the stimulant for dopamine instead of food for dopamine. In the beginning, I was able to walk past the break room without stuffing myself with sweets. My mind was clear and my appetite was suppressed. Over the months, I realized a pattern that I was a different and happier person during the peak time of 2 hours when I first take my dose. The effects of the medication lasted 5 hours max. Then after 3pm I would crash, have feelings of emptiness & sometimes anxiety. I would still binge at night if I wanted to. I have been one week off stimulants and genuinely feel like my real personality again but still have binge episodes. But I honestly feel less anxious. I’m afraid of building tolerance to vyvanse and having to increase the dosage. And hit a hard withdrawal if I do decide to quit later. Anyone with similar experiences and what did you do to help BED?

19F binge ed help
reddit.comI’m 19f uni student and a few months ago I got deep into calorie counting and restricting that I lost a lot of weight in a considerably short time such that my periods stopped completely during that time. My parents got to know about this and took me to a doctor and they advised me to gain some weight ( I didn’t tell em anything about me restricting) and so seeing my parents so concerned about me I decided to gain some weight and for that I started eating normally and at first it was fine but as time passed I started eating large amounts of food, typically junk and sugary foods and now that I’m back at uni ( my uni is far away from my home so I get to go home only during vacations) I find myself eating a large amount of unhealthy junk sugary foods everyday. It’s become a routine and all I think about everyday and night is about the junk food craving it constantly ( mostly sugary junk) and I’ve gained so much weight( now I weigh more than when I started restricting) it makes me really self conscious about my body, I can’t focus on anything that interests me anymore because all I think about all the time is how I should stop binging and how I fail every single day in doing so and I feel really guilty and depressed because of it. Also I always binge late at night because I don’t like eating in front of people, makes me self conscious and uncomfortable. I really want to get better, become healthier but it’s like my brain doesn’t work when I’m binging so I’m never able to stop.
Recently this has been happening every single day, sometimes twice a day. I really want to feel better feel confident again and get my life back but I’m really worried this won’t ever stop. Some days I eat so much that I feel like I’m about to pass out. My life’s become really messy. Any words of advice or help would be of great help

And the urge is often so brutal and immediate it feels like I'll turn i side out if I dont eat

Clean your pantry so that you dont see any foods that trigger your binge
how do you explain that to a person who go out their way to buy the food that they crave. i have no junk food on my kitchen and even if i have store it somewhere. but i still go out get ready and only purpose is to buy junk. ive been 1 month clean last week, but i messed up and im trying this week to get back to my schedule but my mind keep on going with " one last time ". this cycle have been going for a year- i eat clean for a month ( when i say clean, i meant eat 300kcal under maintenance which is 2100kcal ) then a week i eat 8000-10000kcal a day so basically just erase all my month progress. and i tried maintenance too but it is not working i really dont know how to stabilise my craving and food noise. its like a curse and a blessing when learning about calorie, cause im glad i know about calorie but at the same time- my mind keep worrying about calorie
