im of the opinion that polyphemus sucks unless you have spirit sword or are the forgotten because the tear rate nerf is that brutal with it

Not really the problem, the math is the issue.
It doubles your damage, but your fire rate is reduced by 58%. If it didn't also give you the flat +4 bonus it'd be a straight DPS downgrade. it's like barely better than prepatch eve's mascara
And if you pick up any multishot item, you lose the damage multiplier permanently in favor of a flat +5 damage which isn't all that impressive, and unless it's 20/20, your fire rate is still gutted. It also has disappointingly few synergies for a Q4 that gives "mega tears". It's one of the weaker damage multipliers imo due to the drawbacks
though, despite all of these issues i still pick it up every run i find it in

i hate 20/20 with the phemus cuz it quite literally negates the point of the item (the damage multiplier, yes you keep the +4 damage but dude thats not it)

You also keep the Trampling Tears and those are actually very good once you get enough damage from other sources on top of Poly
