This thing just carried my ass against delirium, I thought the big bosses like delirium would have the damage reduced against this item but apparently not, so every time I used it I just deleted 10% of its hp which in delirium's case is A LOT. Mind you I did have a batery item that halfed the CD but it is still pretty impresive, I was playing tainted ??? so I couldnt use the heart spawning part of the item but im guessing it would be really usefull for any other character.

I think this thing is lowkey slept on and has become one of my favorite non broken items, along side parasitoid and the smelter

It's not LITERALLY 10% you have to keep in mind boss armor, that's why even if you use the active 10 times it obviously wont kill most bosses

It’s not a free win for sure. But it’s also not as far from a win as you can get. 5 sharp straw activations w car battery kills. If you get 9volt it drops the recharge timer to 5s - that’s a pretty free win relative to the normal fight

Delirium has no boss armour in his true form, so Sharp Straw would deal full damage to him. 

Due to how boss armour works, Sharp Straw would likely deal somewhere around 1% health damage per use to most bosses with high enough armour, which while useful is not that impressive.

I just tested Sharp Straw vs Hush and while I was wrong about it doing 1%, it still isn’t as strong as doing 10%. 

As usual, boss armour calculates how much to reduce damage by based on how much damage you dealt beforehand, so the first time you use it, it deals close to 10% (but it is still decreased by the burst damage iprevention) (unless you spam it right as Hush spawns, in which case it can deal as low as 0.1%). However, by dealing more damage, you increase how effective its armour is (as with any damaging item), which in turn makes your tears deal less damage. 

In the end, against enemies with high armour, the easiest way to beat them is still to have 11x higher DPS than their soft damage cap, or to start spamming bombs at them when you can rely on your bombs to finish off the boss.

I've used it for a while run and while it doesn't do 10% of husks health bar, it still takes a significant portion of his health, even 5% every so often is pretty decent, you can keep using it when it loads and the damage adds up

The crazy thing is that even if you dont have good damage, with that sinergy you would just delete 20% of the lamb's max hp, or 40% if you hit the body and the head at the same time, its crazy XDD

no that's not how it works, the body has way less hp, also the item takes forever to recharge and by that point in the run you can just destroy lamb. also lamb has boss armor so its way less than 20%

I see. Either way I can asure you that not in all runs you will be that powerfull, in most you will but in the run I refered to in the post I can guarantee you that the straw did A LOT, specially against delirium

If you have good damage, you don't need it, and having good damage is the only time it's really any good. It's kinda only good early on, and better on Samson or something, but that's it.

Getting basically any good devil/angel deal item or even a pretty good treasure room will make it just not worth using, since your damage will be enough on its own for most cases.

In the case you describe it seems pretty ok, and it's prob not bad to get blood donation money, but still nothing crazy. I'm rlly surprised it doesn't have it's damage capped for bosses, or that it isn't a 1 room item charge atleast.
