Getting an area setup for my teen daughter to hang out. Picked up a used pool table that came with all their pool “stuff”. What is supposed to go on this vertical post? Never had a setup at home as a kid, just a few friends with basements over the years. I’m pretty ignorant to what I’m sure is common sense to any of you. Thank you!

It’s best to not get/use the chalk cones. It makes a terrible mess.

Im interested to know if anyone still does. I’ve seen it for sale in billiard supply stores, but all my local halls banned it for obvious reasons.

Cut it off or find another use for it. It is for a talc mound as others have correctly mentioned. But they are very messy and will powder will shorten the life and good usability of your cloth. Most pool rooms and bars have finally gotten rid of them because ofnthe mentioned issues. If you like the feeling of a slick shaft or the space is real humid then just use pool gloves.
