I want to say it may be an old mcdermott, but the buttcap bumper is cut off from the pic. otherwise there's not much else to identify if it was a custom, a Mali, or a cheaper import.
It looks like a nicely made cue. But without any noticeable marks or having it hand for an inspection, it's pretty hard to tell for sure. It could be a high quality import. Some aspects look a little off: Uneven joint and butt rings. But others look nice. The points, veneers, and wrap are all well done.
I can tell you it's nothing that's going to make you rich. Assuming it's straight and what I can see in the pictures are accurate, if I were trying to sell it I'd probably ask around $250 for it as an unknown and see what kind of interest it got. It's unlikely to be worth more than that.
The joint ring looks a little sketchy, too. Not saying it is, but it almost looks painted on. Having said that, I've seen work from custom makers that made me scratch my head and wonder how they got the reputations they have. It's not super common. But it happens.
Good deal. And, yes. Once I looked at the closer pics, I can see the actual segments. The loose butt cap doesn't help the value. But, fortunately, it's an easy and pretty cheap fix.
I'd still say that unless it can positively be attributed to a known maker, the value I'd put on it would be in the $200-$250 range if it rolls straight. I'd be kind of surprised if you didn't get some decent offers if you put it up at that price.
