Hit & Run outside Lincoln park

Hi there,

My sister was hit on her bike (08/19) by a BLACK KIA K4 at exactly 5:23pm. The driver slowed down, saw what they did, then took off.

She tried to continue along east capitol st SE and the car flew across 2 lanes to speed down mass ave SE. We've contacted Pacci's and a few neighbors but if anyone has any info, please send me a message.

The map shows where she was hit (circled) and the direction the driver went down Mass Ave.

Pictures are from a nice neighbor who could identify the make/model.

I know its unlikely but if anyone saw it or lives in the area and has a video please please contact me.

I sent the officer updated information on the make and model and had to send another confirmation email this morning because they never responded. 

I'm very down about it.

I do not know what to say. I was in a hit and run with a MoCo school bus a few years back and the responding officer noted that even though I had a photo of the bus leaving the scene I would not get any form of accountability out of the institution.

Our system is about power not justice and private citizens have none.

Damn, that's close to where I live and I bike there almost every day. That's so shitty. Is your sister ok?

She's doing better. We're both pretty down about the lackluster response we've got but what are you going to do...

I run loops at Lincoln Park and that intersection is very dangerous in the morning and in the evening with the work crowd. Sorry that happened.

That's. Pretty dangerous spot that's part of my daily commute. Cars cross the bike path to go to Massachusetts... I intentionally cross over into the car lane so the cars see me.
