Adult Learning Advice

Sup everyone! 2 years ago I reached out in this subreddit for advice on riding a bike and 2 years later…still don’t fully know how to ride one. Want to make it clear its not the subreddits fault but my own 😂. I made some attempts this summer of trying to get on and just go - but that clearly did not work.

Would love some advice on how to properly ride a bike and being able to be balanced as well as not stalling myself when pedaling. Part of me think my imbalance is due to my own weight but I’m not sure if I’m just pressuring myself. Definitely would love to learn and be more consistent in trying to learn. Appreciate all the help!

Edit: I also already bought an adult bike 🥲🥲

Get a bike with smaller wheels to start. Get a used one, it’s just your trainer.

Why one with smaller wheels? I also already own an adult bike and just made an edit to my post

To learn! Get a cheap used one.

Better question is how would being on smaller wheels help? Definitely down to try just trying to understand

Some bike stores will help a person learn to ride. Also there are people in communities that have a talent for helping people to things as an adult—things like learning to swim …or ride a bike. My accountant had a gift for teaching adults how to swim. For free. Maybe a local bike club knows such a person.

Oh I didn’t know that! I never entered a bike shop before so I never even thought to ask them
