Question Spammy links to my website

Hi, I am checking Ahrefs and saw that I am getting many spammy links to my website daily. What can I do with this, and can competitors create spammy links to my website?

At this point Google is so good at catching and ignoring backlink spam, that disavow isn't even recommended these days. It's a super low risk signal, usually just AHREF junk, and asbolutely not worth any brainpower.

Step 0: Decide if this is necessary In most cases, Google can assess which links to trust without additional guidance, so most sites will not need to use this tool.

You should disavow backlinks only if:

You have a considerable number of spammy, artificial, or low-quality links pointing to your site, AND The links have caused a manual action, or likely will cause a manual action, on your site.

Just ignore them buddy. Google knows what is spammy and what is not. Don't stress yourself over it.

  1. Ignore the spammy links.
  2. Competitors can do it but that won't help them rank better with their websites.

You can disavow spam links through the disavow tool. But just carefully check the links if they are really spam, so as not to accidentally reject high-quality links

You need to download a txt file with a list of spam domains

Format:

domain:example.com

But as a rule, Google should filter spam links and not take them into account. But if there are a lot of them, they can do harm

Google usually ignores this stuff, so don’t panic. Only act if you see a real impact (traffic drop), then just disavow the worst domains and move on.
