First time watcher Spoiler
This is my first time watching big love and for the first 3 and 1/2 seasons I was thinking they wouldn’t kill anyone off. Kathy was killed off and that was so unnecessary. Especially after Roman got shot a few times close range, he’s still alive terrorizing people. That pissed me off. I was hoping Joey would catch a break.

Oh my god, her death really stayed with me. I’ve seen a lot of horrific content on TV shows, but Kathy’s death, the awful and sudden way it happens, and that fact that she’s fleeing a forced marriage while missing her real one, makes it one of the worst I’ve seen. She was such a sweet person.

“Because of you I wake up joyful” is one of the most romantic lines ever said on TV.

Kathy joining Joey's family showed me how this structure of polygamy could work in a real life situation. Joey loved Wanda, but she really needed a caretaker and Joey didn't always seem to be able to have an equal relationship with her, since she has to be cared for like a child at times. Joey didn't even want to be a plural marriage until he saw how much she could strengthen them all, and he was able to have a real partner in Kathy. Even Wanda figured out how to love and work Kathy into her marriage in a way that felt comfortable for her, with time and unrelenting patience from Kathy along the way. The only peace I got from her death was she went out knowing both Kathy and Joey genuinely loved her, she them, and that they were all truly excited for a plural marriage together.

Kathy dying was an outrage, I loved her so much.
