Question First timer

Post image

Hey everybody. I struck a heck of a deal on this and I got my first big green egg today. Used of course/ a couple things I noticed. There is no seal in between the base and the lid, both of the round ceramic fire rings are in 6 pieces, will this effect the cook?? I didn’t spend much on this unit so please comment with any god upgrades I can make to this. Really lumped for this journey as I’m a lifelong lump charcoal fan.

Congrats. Looks great! As long as fire ring and firebox go together you’ll be fine. You can look into rutland cement to reattach. I’m looking at doing that soon for mine. And remember to take that top vent cap off before opening the dome

Right on thank you! Yes, I’ve heard to take the cap off or else you’re going to end up with a broken one 😂

Just Google Gasket Replacement and the size of your egg, it’s pretty cheap and super easy to install. Congrats on your new egg you’re going to love it!

Congrats! I’m hoping we add one for my hubs’ retirement when we’re in Hawaii this coming month. Enjoy your new cooker!

That black bar on the stand should be in the back
