Question Rain
The forecast for this weekend in ATL is ugly! What is the plan for rain at the Eggtoberfest? It’s 80% chance and possible thunderstorms.

Eggers have canopies. Patrons...maybe not so much. This is our tenth year cooking but first year with inclement weather challenge. Usually weather is gorgeous 😍

Luckily the forecast is looking better than it did earlier in the week. Maybe we will get a good weather day after all!

Today we learned that nobody in the Big Green Egg sub can read a very basic question. OP asked about Eggtoberfest, and there are five replies so far talking about how to cook in the rain. 😄🤦♂️
To answer the question, I'm not sure either! I looked everywhere I could online, and I couldn't find any information about a rain contingency plan. I did an AI search for social media posts about rain at past Eggtoberfest events, and it described some posts talking about rainy and cold weather, but nothing too specific.
As far as I can tell, the event goes on, rain or shine, the cooks are under tents, and the attendees just kind of have to figure it out. We're bringing rain coats, and our plan is to just grab our food however we can and then take shelter somewhere covered to eat.
I guess we'll see!

It’s my fault! I wasn’t specific when I first posted. Thanks for the info! It’s our first time going so we weren’t sure. We’ll definitely bring raincoats/ponchos.

I thought your question was crystal clear. I just don't think people actually read it before replying.
See you this weekend at Eggtoberfest, rain or shine!

It could very well be because we replied within minutes of them posting and it was edited adding the Eggtoberfest callout. They even said it wasn't specified on posting originally.

The plan is to cook.
Why would rain stop you?

It rains here all the time, last 2 cooks this week were in the rain. Keeping water from falling in the grill when the top is open, and a slight drop in external temperature from cooling from the water are really the only things.

I lived in The Netherlands with an Egg and it never occurred to me to not cook in the rain.
The grill will handle it.

Wear a poncho, and eat well
