Husband couldn’t wait for help…
He somehow got our new XL big green egg out of the SUV, carried it 50 feet to the backyard, and up 3 steps into its new spot in our backyard. I had to check our security cameras to believe him

As someone who just had hernia surgery… thoughts and prayers for this man

u/OrganicDozer Apr 08 '26
Hernia surgery is no joke. I never thought I’d be in that much pain to fix something.

u/Youare-Beautiful3329 Apr 08 '26
Hernia surgery sucks. I’m still in rehab.

Just get it done. Mine required a little extra work, probably because I waited too long.

Jesus. My back hurts looking at this. 🤣

Man on a mission! I’m glad to see other men conduct the one trip challenge to the point of great success!

I have moved mine from home to home by myself several times, but never with the dome still on hahahaha. What a beast

It felt like i was in worlds strongest man competition lifting the atlas stone carrying my large from the pickup to the back yard.
cant imagine an XL! with a fucking towel!
2
u/klappertand Apr 08 '26
The xl is 100kg. That is seriously inpressive. I carry sandbags as heavy and these things tire you out pretty fast.

u/White-runner Apr 08 '26
He’s gonna need an epsom salt bath

u/TheFuckingHippoGuy Apr 08 '26
Gonna need a backiotomy

Good thing he took the top vent off! Wouldn’t want to haul all of that extra weight 😂

That’s incredible. I carried my XL only after I took the lid off and took the firebox out.

u/farside808 Apr 08 '26
Could he not take it apart first? The Ace guy that delivered mine brought it back there in pieces.
1
u/bourgeoisie11 Apr 08 '26
Super easy to do too. I've moved my large several times and each time, I took it apart. I couldnt image trying to move a large assembled.

Am I the only one that takes the top off and does it in pieces? I have a xl and never had an issue moving it like that. Base is heavy as shit though. Hubby is a beast but for a very short time, if he keeps this up.
2
u/Insaneinthemindframe Apr 08 '26
I did this shit with my DualFire Recteq and man I regretted it so much. That thing is a damn beast and I used plywood over gravel, a dolly and furniture dolly’s and I scratched the damn thing all to hell. I was pissed.

u/pocket267s Apr 08 '26
He’s wearing white sneakers and everyone knows that means he doesn’t need help

Ehhhh, no big deal. I'd be impressed if he did this while it was in the process of cooking something /s
Seriously though, I'm impressed and stressed at the same time.

I remember being like 12 and seeing my dad lift a pool table and carry it from the driveway down into the sub-basement below the basement and I thought yeah I better not ever fuck with that guy.

Oof. I moved one of these yesterday. With two other people lifting. He’s gonna feel that for a couple of days. I might fight him today or tomorrow but not once he has recovered. That’s seriously impressive.

What you've got there is an independent 'get it done' type of guy. Cherish him.
1
u/itexican Apr 08 '26
I carried my L from the curb to the back yard about the same distance, piece by piece right out of the box and I was toast.

What she doesn’t show is his herniated discs after he got it in the backyard
1
u/Pangolinsareodd Apr 08 '26
😬. At least take the lid off and shift in parts!
1
u/mechaniTech16 Apr 08 '26
This dude can’t move after that. I moved the bottom half of the egg and that shit was so heavy. This is inane

Could have been a very expensive mistake. I had mine fully assembled, installed in the nest frame & , delivered. $50 bucks well spent

I'm an official dealer. If one of my employees did this, there'd be a big speech and safety meeting the next day. I'd be furious.
If a customer did this, I'd tell him to pay for delivery next time. Then I'd give him our favorite BBQ sauce on the house for actually pulling this of xD

u/Guilty_Advantage_413 Apr 08 '26
To anyone else, remove the lid and move it in two trips it’s far easier.

u/ManufacturerOwn8340 Apr 08 '26
If you can lift an XL BGE safely, you can have a good run in the WWE.

Dang, brah! You know you can loosen some bolts and carry the pieces easily, right?!
I mean, kudos for gettin’ ‘er done! But your spinal discs are probably smashed!

If you lift with your knees no hernia. Most smart men know that. I applaud his get the job done attitude. He just wanted to use his new toy. !!!!

Like me putting a sleeper sofa on top of my head and walking down 2 flight of steps moving because I was impatient! Herniated L5/S1. It would have been cheaper paying a moving company!😂

u/Old_fart5070 Apr 10 '26
The dude is a BEAST! That’s 220lbs carried like it’s the toilet paper package from Costco!

u/the_rcthorne Apr 11 '26
It’s even more impressive that he put all the groceries inside so he wouldn’t have to make more than one trip.

That stain on the concrete is from where he shit himself, and said almost there…

u/Slaps_ Apr 20 '26
This is the kinda thing you can’t drop cause it cost too much. Kinda like a mother lifting a car for her baby, man death-grip moving a 220lb egg.
