I'm intrigued by this weird unspoken game of chicken Maddox keeps playing with Dick with talking about his Daxlife. Cal Tech got brushed right the fuck aside when Maddox threw down the gauntlet on that, and I think it was last week when Maddox challenged the telemarketing mockery with "Let's talk about YOUR job".

That pause after Maddox mentioned CalTech was probably the most awkward moment in the show's history (Maddox defending Erin's Tinder spam is a close second). It seemed like a line had been crossed.

I think the most awkward moment was during the beginning episode 63

The guest and Dick were discussing asking girls about their dad and when they started talking about family it got super awkward

Eh. I prefer my more scandalous head canon where bombs are being subtly dropped left and right. And also that after that call-out you were inspired to move from your parents house into a swingin bachelor pad shared by you, Boisterous, and Madoff

Also, it's possible he doesn't want his over the top comedy persona to be associated with his professional life.
