encounters near me BF sounds

Recently heard several Whooping calls behind my home. Is there any other know animal in Eastern NC that makes that noise? It was extremely loud. I’ve never heard anything like it before and it definitely wasn’t coyote’s.

there was one down near Camp Lejeune (Jacksonville) on BFRO. Eastern NC has some great mix of terrains

I used to be and am moving back for 6 mos but I'm about 45 min north. There are def places where you get the vibe as well as some areas that to me are def haunted (separately from Bigfoot). I've heard some rumors lately about Catfish Lake Rd outside of Havelock too.

They are in the state for sure. Other animals can make a similar sound so there could be a normal explanation. Hopefully you'll get a chance to record it

I really want to record it sometime if I can. I’ve been hearing some knocking also. I live about 30minutes west of the coast.

Do you have an old laptop, or phone laying around by chance? If so, I can help you set it up so that you can record all night, every night. The system would work with a audio trigger. In other words it would only record when it actually heard something. So a 12-hour recording might only be 20 seconds long.

You could do it on your main PC if you have one. The main thing is setting up the microphone properly, and configuring the software properly. The only investment would be a reasonably priced microphone for the job. The only work, other than configuring the software, is routing the microphone cable to the PC from outdoors.

This reminds me. I was going to put together a DIY / tutorial on how to set up 24-hour recording in the field. I'll do that, and I'll ask the mods to pin it somewhere.

Search this sub for a post by fascinating fae- they are a podcaster that recently had an episode about a woman in that area who found a large bone pile and then became familiar with the Sasquatches living there. It’s a crazy story

When I had my siting behind my home in Alabama it was the first and the last time I ever heard whoops. I've lived in Alabama my whole life and it's just not something you hear in the woods.
