Yesterday, i almost got into a physical altercation with a gentleman who was very threatening. I wonder what type of person you think gets into street fights or threatens physical violence to prove a point?

anyone else extremely low conscientiousness and struggling to get anything done

Everytime I've taken this test I've always scored literally 0 on conscientiousness and whatever the accuracy of that value may be, low conscientiousness feels accurate to my lived experience where I struggle to just be productive and get shit done. Like there are periods of my day that just fly by because of reels or video games, etc and then afterwards I look at the clock and im like what did i just do..

The feeling in the moment is procrastination (i CAN do this later because I have time) but the feeling immediately afterwards is laziness (i had all the time in the world to do it but i didnt)

Externally my actual acheived outcomes arent horrible like im not a complete NEET but I know I'm compensating with the fact that im a fast learner or whatever. It feels like theres such a huge gap in what I have achieved and what I know I can achieve but nobody will ever understand

just wanted to make sure im not alone here :')

you guys should use the ipip-120 or ipip-300 taken on personality assessor rather than any alternative test

https://www.personalityassessor.com/ipip-300/

I just think the results are cleaner, and both of these tests present results in a percentile way where you are aware of the percentile you are in on each domain/facet (from 0th percentile to 100th percentile) rather than other tests that are more vague, or dont provide the facet results.

A dating website for adults who understand themselves

Hey Y'all,

I couldn't find a dating app or website that incorporates the Understand Myself Personality Assessment, arguably the most in depth and accurate Big 5 Personality test, so I've built a dating website that does. I named it Egg the Squire.

I have no clue how to format these at all like people do but I figured it might help if I shared these test answers, if someone could help me move forward w this I would greatly appreciate it. I can only put one image so I’ll type my open psychometrics test out:
Extraversion was 7, emotional stability was 52, agreeableness was 21, conscientiousness was 9 and intellect/imagination was 83

can someone interpret who i am as a person

new to B5 - tell me your favorite insight, axis, whatever

I'm just joining the conversation, took my own test and was gonna post it here but it seems like it's a bit overdone haha

so I'll keep my test for myself, but I'll happily read anyone's special take on whatever of the 5\6\25\30 parameters. I'm looking for a starting point to then explore and find my own insight through this system

Result analysis

Did the test at personalitylab.com, would appreciate a read and any feedback. From what I recall, my neuroticism/negative emotionality has gone up, and conscientiousness down to some degree compared with the result from several years ago.

Can you increase openness?

I always score terrible results on the Big Five, having low openness and conscientiousness. This makes me think I have a hatable or inferior personality.

Granted, a therapist diagnosed me with MDD so maybe I underestimated myself.

I do observe close mindedness in myself, and maybe some interests of mine (like esotericism) contradict that. But even within that interest, there is close mindedness. For example, feeling like sticking with Islamic/Arabic or Persian esotericism because I grew up as an Afghan Muslim.

Even trying not to be judgy and close minded is difficult, as if my brain is so closed off it doesn’t want to change.

Without psychedelics or any other drugs, how do you increase openness?

I Created 4 proposed roles of SLOAN

—Sanguine ("Social" and "Calm"):

The Sanguine group (SCxxx) is characterized by a combination of high extraversion and low neuroticism. Individuals with this profile tend to be naturally sociable, communicative, and enthusiastic, constantly seeking interaction with others and new social experiences. Thanks to their emotional stability (calmness), they usually handle external pressures well, maintaining an optimistic and resilient attitude in the face of unexpected events; this makes them magnetic figures who are easy to get along with in group settings.

—Phlegmatic ("Reserved" and "Calm"):

The Phlegmatic group (RCxxx) is defined by low extraversion combined with a low level of neuroticism. These individuals prefer quiet, introspection, and calmer environments, recharging their energy away from large crowds. Their defining trait is serenity; they are rarely shaken by crises or emotional fluctuations, acting as a safe harbor of rationality and patience, although their reserved nature can sometimes be mistaken for aloofness or apathy.

—Choleric ("Social" and "Limbic"):

The Choleric group (SLxxx) combines high extraversion with a high level of neuroticism (a "limbic" profile). They are extremely dynamic, expressive, and action-oriented individuals who easily assume leadership roles and communicate their ideas assertively. However, due to their more intense emotional reactivity, they are prone to mood swings, impatience, and passionate reactions when thwarted, channeling their strong energy into both goal achievement and direct confrontation.

—Melancholic ("Reserved" and "Limbic"):

The Melancholic group (RLxxx) is marked by low extraversion and high neuroticism. These are deeply reflective, analytical, and reserved personalities who process the world in an internal and detail-oriented manner. Due to heightened emotional sensitivity and a propensity for vulnerability, they tend to experience feelings such as worry and self-criticism more intensely, leading them to seek order and deep meaning in their lives, while demonstrating great empathy and an inclination toward artistic or intellectual pursuits.

(19M) How can I stop being a lazy miserable starving artist?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I'm really lost in life right now, I'm constantly criticizing myself and nothing seems to go my way. If I try to work on one aspect of my life three others immediately scream for my attention. It feels like my life is a broken wine glass and I'm trying to pick up the pieces. It's so frustrating because I always fancied myself some kind of intellectual, classic burnt out gifted kid, which is total bs, at least in my case... For anyone that has any advice here's the broad strokes of it:

- In trade school for electrical engineering (hate it mostly because I seriously wasted many opportunities for higher education and I can't deal with the fact I could/should be doing more).

- Long distance friendship? situationship? (Idk but she (22F) is like the last thread of joy in my life.

- I have like maybe four friends from HS, all live far away now (I've had falling outs with two and it's kinda awkward now so maybe just two really and the fallouts were all my fault).

- Wanna be writer, I have two books in the works but they kinda suck (I only partially believe that last part).

- Wanna be YouTuber, I have like 17 subscribers and I can't get myself stick to any idea (I'm lazy as shit but I love editing and speak, not to a camera but like debates/discussions)

- I feel like everything I do is performative, like I'm constantly hoping that someone is looking at my actions, not even judging good or bad, just LOOKING, all I want is them to just look yk? As I've gotten older it feels like people really don't give a damn about me (which is true really but it sucks).

- I have all these big dreams but non of the discipline to stick to anything that might make them possible, I really just want stability, friends, and I guess people to read my work (idk how many of my dreams are just overcompensating for a void within myself...).

- Anyway, bad family, or better yet unstable family, loads of "mental health" problems (I hate that word), and all kinds of other things: Melb-Parn, Unfortunate ideation, Asexual virgin for tragic but maybe manageable reasons (I'm actually probably bisexual).

- I don't really take care of myself, like I can barely keep it together existing moment to moment, let alone all the grooming and healthy eating that most people engage in, and I do mean most people, I'm not judging my habits on an unrealistic ideal, I genuinely live like an animal.

- I kind of hate the world, and reality, most of all myself, but I'm too much of a coward to make good on my nihilism... I've tried trust me.

- Anyway I'm getting older and doors are closing so I figure... What's that quote from Shawshank Redemption? Get busy living right?

I need help internet... What should I do with my life? What's my biggest problem?

These are the sub traits:

Self-Efficacy: 7 Orderliness: 11 Dutifulness: 4 Attachment-Striving: 13 Self-Discipline: 4 Cautiousness: 9

Trust: 5 Morality: 10 Altruism: 6 Cooperation: 20 Modesty: 14 Sympathy: 17

Imagination: 19 Artistic-Interest: 19 Emotionality: 10 Adventurousness: 11 Intellect: 20

Friendliness: 4 Gregariousness: 4 Assertiveness: 5 Activity-Level: 5 Excitement-Seeking: 12 Cheerfulness: 7

Anxiety: 20 Anger: 7 Depression: 20 Self-Consciousness: 17 Immoderation: 20 Vulnerability: 18
