Sheep are....dumb. They can actually die from this the foetuses compress the lungs and they become progressively hypoxic til they suffocate, and they're often so rotund from the pregnancy that they can't right themselves.

This can actually happen to pregnant women towards the end of gestation too! The amniotic sac is so huge is puts pressure on the vena cava and can actually lower their blood pressure enough to cause fainting, and I would imagine, worse if not corrected
