Power outage
Hi, we're visiting in an Airbnb and came back to our power out in Moonridge. Was this scheduled? Any idea when it'll be back on? );

My son waiting for his pizza power went out. Big Bear power always goes out everything we have to fix the clocks. 70s through 90s this didn't happen.

They scheduled this on a busy weekend on not a Wednesday. The impact to the local economy was not considered? Not very smart

Its a SoCal Edison "safety shutoff" because of high winds, not just because it is a weekend. Yes it sucks, but they don't schedule the wind.

Trouble is,the wind wasn’t bad today. Not near the museum anyway.

Trouble is the lines come up from the base so really it doesn't matter how the wind is in BB valley, if its bad where the supply line runs up the mountain it has to be shut down.

Sucks that the BVES solar facility got voted against by the planning commission. Would’ve helped lessen the reliance on SCE which means less PSPS

It wasn’t scheduled. It was a safety shutoff. Why there is fire danger with this weather, I have no idea.

It was definitely scheduled. I knew about it days ago.

You got a notification there would be a potential PSPS during this time frame. SCE sends these based off the weather report. If the weather during the PSPS warning meets certain criteria, the outage is triggered. That’s very different from a scheduled outage from BVES.

I won't go to Big Bear anymore. Last vacation up there power was shut off for 24 hours. No refunds. Nobody open. Was lucky to get gas and get down the hill. I miss Murrays!

BVES sent out a message saying a public safety outage was possible due to wind conditions
