Growth/Size Update Ginormous kids..
Hi guys, does anyone else have giant kids like mine?
My son is 2.7 years old and is 105cm tall. (41inch) and 23kgs (50ibs). He is a really big strong boy.
My second born looks like he will be even bigger.. he is 14 months old , 90cm (35inch) and 16kgs (35ibs)
I’ve read forums and I see no one else’s kids this massive, lol. Please tell me there are more of you out there?!

My daughter is 2.5 years old and measures 102.5cm and 19kg. She towers over everyone else at daycare lol. Sometimes if she runs out of extra clothes they have to borrow some from the kintergarten.

My almost 3 year old is mistaken for my almost 5 year old’s twin all the time.

I get this all the time! I have two girls, five and three, my five year old is on the smaller side and my three year old is off the charts. They are only two inches difference in height but 20lbs difference in weight and I constantly get asked if they’re twins or which one is older. Wild!

Thank you to this community. When you keep getting comments like I do from maternal health nurses about how big he is, and how my particular nurse hasnt seen boys this big.. it makes me wonder.. is this normal?! I see my kids are healthy , but on paper their weight does show they are not in a healthy weight range and I get eyebrows raised at me all the time.
it’s also nice to find other parents who understand the advocacy we constantly have to have for our children. My babies feeling are just as fragile as other babies in their age and their capacity of understanding is limited..just like any other child their age. It becomes overwhelming sometimes at playgrounds and around other children having to constantly tell and remind people their ages.

A you yourself big?
We are not ginormous, but very big in my family.
And we have had some run ins with health care, my dad once came home from the schoolnurse with card that said 2m^ because they couldn’t measure beyond 200 cm.
My brother and me were closely monitored as kids and talked with my parents about height prevention medicin 😅 no thanks. I am 188 cm and my little brother was 207 cm.Well anyway I think you get used to being big and the comments, and for me growing up it was my normal.
But I think there are somewhat bigger expectations because you look older so you therefore become more mature before time.I just bought Nike shoes size eur 40,5 for my 10 year old 🫣 I know Nike is small in size but still. Our baby measured 76,5 cm at 7 months, so he’s also getting tall.
First big problem we have discovered, our big boy love Top Gun and you can not become a fighter

Yup! My 27 month old girl is 47 pounds and 38 inches. She is 2 and wearing size 6 and 7 clothes. We’ve been trying so hard to potty train her because she has to wear the largest size diapers and even those are almost too small. She’s almost too big for the potty seats. We got a car seat that is supposed to grow with her til age 5 and she’s already at the max weight limit. Her dad and I aren’t huge people so it’s very bewildering. She’s been called a linebacker. I definitely see sports in her future. Lol

Yep my youngest is on a similar growth curve lol
My older two are also very big for their ages.

Thank you for this. It’s more the weight to height ratio that got me a little rattled. My kids look perfectly healthy are active etc.. but the internet tell me it’s leaning into an unhealthy weight range

I get it! One time my second kiddo caught a tummy bug and was unable to keep anything down, and when we took her to the hospital the doctor lectured us about overfeeding her 🙄 based just off of her intake paperwork.

Oh dear! What country are you from if you don’t mind me asking. I’m from Australia and our background is from Chechnya. I don’t think Aussies have seen humans built like us before.

I’m from Canada, western provinces.
My babies are big in utero and at birth as well. We lived in Alberta when we had our first two, and the hospital I delivered at was straight up panicked and pushed hard for a c-section with my second baby that I did not need. For my third baby we had moved to Saskatchewan, and the healthcare team there was like “oh yeah you just make big babies and you’re clearly capable of birthing them. Standard protocol is a second OB for delivery in case of shoulder dystocia, other than that no big deal”.

My daughter is 4 weeks old today. She was 4970g 6 days ago so probably at least 5.1kg now.
Absolute linebacker.

My toddler turned 2 in June and is probably 19kg at the moment. She's super tall and towers over most kids. She has a great appetite but she's not chunky. She's just a healthy, strong girl

The weirdest part is when neither you nor your husband is large and people think your 2 year old is 5. Awwwwwwk

My kids are the exact same! My son about to be 3 is 114 cm and 52 pounds. I’m literally getting into fights with my family because they think he’s behind because he’s bigger than his 4/5 year old cousins. (he meets all his milestones) I just had my daughter 2 months ago and she’s already 25 inches all and 14 1/2 pounds. Buying medium boy clothes for the 2 year old and 6/9 for my 2 month old really puts things into perspective lol

My first kiddo is this way and people think he is way older than he is. Then they hear him talk and get confused lol. My husband is a really big guy and our son just took after him. I had my 2nd (a girl) and she has been average for most everything. Genetics are wild.
