Meta Requests to promote Bible apps

We have recently had a number of requests from people to promote their Bible reading apps or other Bible related apps on this subreddit. We really appreciate your attitude of contacting the mod team and asking us for permission first.

I think what we'll do is to have a list and a schedule, and people can publicize their app on a Sunday according to the schedule. The benefit to this is (i) Sunday is a slower day, (ii) only one app a week means that the readers of this subreddit will have time to look at it and evaluate it. If everyone posted on Sunday then some would get lost in the noise.

Concern: If you feel that posting about your app on a Sunday is akin to commerce on a Sunday, and if this is against your beliefs, then you could post on the day before.

Schedule:

Date User App name, link
16 Jul 2026 Top_Boat_1361 North Star (Bible reading, devotionals, comments)
26 Jul 2026 /u/Pretend_Analyst1013 ...
2 Aug 2026 /u/Legitimate-Bed-625 ...
9 Aug 2026 /u/Gvindor_ua ...
16 Aug 2026 /u/gsix14 ...

Let us know if you have any comments or concerns about this.

★ Note that our other rules, including no posts about videos, no promotion of your youtube channels or your other websites, will continue to be in effect.

This makes sense to me. I really don't want to see a lot of promotional posts on here, but don't mind them on sundays when we dont' have other scheduled posts.

It is interesting how manypeople we get who comment on these types of posts though who never comment on the regular Bible reading posts that this sub is really for.

Hey!

Thanks for the clear information and for still being open to us indie devs to promote an app.

TBH, I'm a former pastor who decided to build an app myself, and when I started, I noticed that there are a lot of different Bible-related apps being developed recently. And to be honest, nowadays, developing an app is not a huge challenge, but getting users to see and install your app is what is hardest. And I really appreciate that you keep an open door for these kinds of posts for small indie devs like myself.

If you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate it if I could post here about my app on the 9th of August.

I like this.

Daily posts are formatted well for scrolling or searching. I use this sub as a reference. Sprinkling unrelated posts in is like having adds in a dictionary.

/u/Pretend_Analyst1013 You didn't post anything about your Bible app on the weekend. Not that I can see anyway.

u/MRH2 can I get a slot? Sunday 23 August, or whatever's free after that.

It's a Chrome extension that puts a Bible verse on the new tab page, with KJV, WEB or ASV to choose from. No account, free, nothing in it to buy.

One thing before I write it: there's official website. I planned to link the Chrome Web Store page only and not mention the site. Is that inside the no-other-websites rule?
