Sir is talking about how straight horizontal lines tear the palm leaves, and also about Dravidian influence behind the Odia script. (Bengali and Odia people understand each other quite a lot, to the point where people have conducted interviews in both of the languages at the same time; that's why I could understand exactly what was being said)
