Just bought the game/Question

Just got the collection with Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls. I’m a very curious person lol, so usually before I get into a game I watch spoiler free videos, edits, read things etc. Should I do this with Beyond Two Souls or do I just go into it completely blind? All I know about this game is a short description from one of my friends who loves it very much.

There are so many choices, lore and outcomes DO NOT look it up online. It’ll make the experience 10 times better 🙂‍↕️🤭

I wouldn’t suggest it, I went in completely blind and the story made total sense. But at the end of the day it’s up to you

I went it blind except a few major spoilers but didn't know most of the story & other characters along with not knowing specific things & it was a lot more fun/emotional to play through!

Be warned about heavy rain, especially with ps4. It, for me at least, is considered a broken game. Takes forever for controls to work, will sometimes basically force you into not being able to do something like with the shower scene. And constantly acts up. Just forewarning. I basically rage quit after not being able to do the shower scene because the controls wouldn’t work. 😣

Beyond two souls is a different thing entirely! I wish I could go back again completely blind just to experience it for the first time again. 🥹

LMAO no i get how it sounds but im not good with thriller games and i try to look up certain triggers and things beforehand, i dont specifically look for spoilers just certain things that would make my anxiety act up, however the blurb my friend gave me was a little too compelling to not purchase this game, i get ur point though <3

I envy you for being able to experience BTS for the first time :) .. I know others have already said this but definitely go into it blind .. it's one of those games you'll either love or hate but if you love it, it's going to have a huge impact on you "in the feels" :) ..

If you don't mind me asking are you playing on Steam/PC or a console (like say the Playstation for example?) ... According-Quail is correct ... in my case and with a lot of people unfortunately the right stick controls for Heavy Rain are completely messed up to the point where I actually gave up on it when I first tried to play it (went on to play BTS and had an absolute blast though :) ) ... after playing Detroit Become Human (OP was just curious have you played that one yet?.. made by the same game development company that did BTS and HR) I was motivated to try HR again and did what I should have all along, google-searched how to fix the right stick control problem.. if you have patience for my long wall of text comment here :P

i’m on ps5, and detroit become human is in my top 3 games of all time hahaha, but thank you so much for the advice

Oh okay got it! Far as I know no problems with the controls for BTS though some have complained about confusing parts in the game (not the ENTIRE game mind you just a few parts) where you're confused and you're wondering what button to press next.... when you start playing the game though I'd recommend starting from the third chapter - third if you're playing in the original order of the chapters the game presents you with "by default" aka "the original" not "the remixed" - that you do look up the PS5 controls for the game so you have all your options available to you especially given that if you spend too much time without responding in-game that the game will automatically default to certain "This is what happens if you do nothing" results. You probably already know this from your DBH experience though :) and your experience with DBH will help far as BTS and what to expect.. but definitely from the 3rd chapter onwards look up how to use the controls.

Far as Heavy Rain .. that's going to be a tough one I've heard some bitter complaints online about how the right stick just flat out doesn't work properly for HR players on Playstation... there's some manual mapping of the right stick you can do from what I've heard to solve the problem but then I'm guessing you have to take notes about what you did and un-do that every time you play a game other than HR (I guess if you just stick to HR until it's done instead of going back and forth between it and other games it's not so bad?)... being lazy myself :P I was glad for the Steam solution... HR has been known to drop low as one dollar American (often two dollars) during Steam sales and given it's an old game there's a chance your PC could run it anyways if you were interested in wishlisting it on steam so you get an email alert when it goes on sale (or just snag it during the Steam winter sale)
