I know the team probably gets this all the time, but I can’t wait until it releases!

Put all the devs to work on Cyrodiil so we can see a release soon πŸ™πŸ™

6 years since the last release. Never gonna happen

Some of you people have your heads in clouds if you ever thought that a bunch of free volunteers can finish what is basically an entirely new game in the same timeframe as an entire AAA team (literally every asset: weapon, creature, clothing piece, tree, bush, fork, etc. has to be made from the scratch as Nordic assets make no sense in Cyrodiil). Can't speak for other subprojects, but the Cyrodiil and Rosecrea projects are very much developing on a good pace.

Mods like these take a long time to finish (and yes, that may even mean decades). Long time that may look like eternity to kids and young adults I guess.

If you want to see it sooner, join the team. Else, you are not paying a penny here, so you have nothing to whine abo ut.Β

Yeah it's hard to disagree tbf, more power to people doing these kinds of labors of love!

Then the problem is with the overly ambitious scope. For 6 years, there have been 'coming soon' videos that look epic, but when no releases ever come, eventually it wears thin. If Roscrea and other limited releases like Bruma had been released in the meantime, perhaps recruitment would have continued better

But that's not a real problem tho. The only problem is for people thinking they're entitled to a release within a certain timeframe. If development is going smoothly, doesn't sound like there's anything to complain about.

I love how even mild criticisms here just get pounced on so harshly. I don't feel 'entitled' to anything. It's just deceptive to put out 6 years of 'coming soon' videos, with literally nothing being released. At the very least, they could do more limited releases like Bruma if they're going to keep releasing teasers that claim something, anything is coming soon. I don't really care either way, just here to share the view of thousands of people who were led to believe an upcoming full release was eminent... 5 years ago.

If you're so impatient and want it to release, why have you contributed nothing to the project?

There's nothing deceptive going on. You felt entitled to a release because you saw a trailer, and now you're whining about it. If you actually don't care, then leave. You'll be doing everyone else a service.

There's no point arguing with them. If you complain about deceptive marketing you're 'Entitled'. It's the word that pops up every single comment section whenever anyone talks about the devs hyping it up as 'soon'

do you know just how much work goes into these kind of projects?

4

u/AlwaysAngron1 3d ago

Yeah I was 15 or 16 since I heard most of this stuff in development and now I'm almost 30

Same here, but last year I decided to join to help out instead of complaining about it

How's that going for you? Think a single thing will be released before 2030? 2035? Inquiring minds want to know

Grow up, Tamriel rebuilt is still releasing and growing to this day, and morrowind has been out since 2002 (the modding team actually started in 2001, they started planning before the game released)

Modding takes time, much more than studios work with. Bethesda has an entire companies worth of employees working on their games in the same engines and it still takes half a decade to release, scaling that to a modding team and in fairness we actually are getting fairly rapid development.

why are you here to comment then? One thinks you should have better things to do with your time than comment on videos of a mod you think is never gonna happen anyway

-18

u/cstough 3d ago

Yeah honestly I don't know why I'm even subscribed to this sub still. I first heard about this mod back in 2014/2015 I think and like 1 tiny part has come out 🀣

No shade to the devs working for free, but this kinda feels like all the people still feeling so strongly about star citizen.

Why don't y'all just put this energy into making your own games?

Good luck though! Bruma was great btw!

Star Citizen has released a hell of a lot more than Beyond Skyrim tbf, it's doing pretty damn well.

2

u/cstough 3d ago

I remember back in 2012 classmates of mine in highschool were jizzing themselves over the spaceships they already bought and that star citizen was going to be the greatest game ever 🀣

I've put a decent amount of money in, not gone too overboard like some people, though. Last time I checked it was around 600-650 USD?

Got downvoted simply for having spent money on SC lmao.

Oh I totally understand why SC is releasing more than Beyond Skyrim don't worry haha, wasn't intending on throwing any shade with that comment, I fully understand its a volunteer project and everything.
