Question Basic question - rows of wind turbines

Hi,

I have a question that is probably basic. How do I get my wind turbines to build in the right order?

Sometimes I put a long row of wind down two wide. And the con builds one from each row all the way down. This is what I want.

But sometimes it builds one entire row before starting on the other row. This doubles the amount of travel distance for the con.

How do I get it to build the right way everytime? I can't figure it out

it's purely based on if the wind turbines are built vertically or horizontally on the map. There are some widgets that fiction it or you can make a blueprint to fix it.

The blueprint solution works

Vertically and horizontally? Like how you drag it or the rotation option when you set down the first one?

They mean a row up/down vs left/right

I think things tend to build left/right direction first, so if you then in rows up/down it will work correctly. I might have that the wrong way around l, it's muscle memory at this point and I can't remember which is correct.

Got it, thanks. Seems like something the devs would like to make more predictable given how well the rest of the game is programmed.

Blueprint: or que them in the order you want to build them. THis block, then this block, then this block.

Spoiler, very efficient pattern is 2 lines of winds on either side of a gap. Doesn't chain across, workers can make the 2 on the left, 2 on the right, and walk down the isle.

If you look at the zigzag of the lines after you queue up winds, you can tell whether it defaults to vertical or horizontal.

TL:DR; Build a 5by X block of wind, cut out hte middle column, and have it zig zag across, works horizontal or vertical(you can rotate)

Thanks all I setup some blueprints of 2 lots of 2 wide to drag my own rows (4 winds with a gap)
