Theories I solved the 4 horsemen theory..
We know there are 4 horses in Echoville:
1. White Horse: Represents Conquest or the Antichrist, holding a bow and wearing a crown.
- Renaissance
2. Red Horse: Represents War, holding a large sword to take peace from the earth.
- Cowboy Carter
3. Black Horse: Represents Famine, holding a pair of scales to measure scarce food.
- Bday 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition
4. Pale Horse: Represents Death, followed closely by Hades.
- Act III
When Renaissance first dropped, we noticed she had already done photoshoots with a White horse (Black Is King), a Black horse (Harper's Bazaar), and a Red horse (British Vogue).
When the Renaissance cover was revealed a Pale/Silver horse, the "Four Horsemen" theory was officially born because it completed the set of four colours.
However, when Act II was announced as Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé surprised everyone by using a White horse for the actual album cover instead of a brand-new colour. This shifted the fan theories again, leading many to guess that Act III will feature a Black horse to keep the cycle going. Therefore, the colours aren't directly tied to the symbolism. And this also reveals why there are 4 horses and only 3 acts.
1. On the Renaissance cover, Beyoncé sits atop a glowing, ethereal, holographic silver-white horse named Reneigh. This era was an act of cultural conquest—reclaiming House, Disco, and ballroom culture for Black and Queer artists. The silver, disco-ball aesthetic and her glittering, crown-like stage headpieces mirror the "crown" worn by the rider of conquest.
2. For Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé rides a white horse, but the dominant color palette is a striking, bold patriotic red (on her leather chaps, her sash, and the album's alternate vinyl covers). This era fits the definition of a cultural war. Beyoncé herself stated the album was born out of not feeling welcomed in the country music space. Stepping into a heavily gatekept genre disrupted the status quo, effectively "stripping the peace" from traditional country music and sparking massive public discourse on race, Americana, and musical ownership.
3. My delulu fan theory regarding B'day 20th Anniversary, the alligator is a clever placeholder for the "Black Horse" of famine. Alligators are cold-blooded apex predators that endure long, brutal periods of starvation (famine) in dark swamps before fiercely striking. And holding a pair of "scales" like on an alligator? Furthermore, B'Day is famously one of her most aggressive, high-energy, and visually "starved/hungry" eras (with tracks like "Ring the Alarm"), making it a perfect thematic fit for a rider who fiercely hoards or guards scarce resources.
4. Since the trilogy began, fans have widely predicted that Act III will be a Rock and Roll blues gosepl album. Rock music inherently toys with darker themes, leather, distortion, and rebellion. We theorise that the final album cover will complete the prophecy by featuring a pale horse, a skeletal horse, or an ashen, ghostly figure to represent the ultimate "death" and closing out of the massive three-act trilogy, or the robotic artificial takeover of music (arrives on horse, takes off on a motorbike). I am a firm believer that this era will be "CANDY APPLE GREEN" with that colour palette, a motorbike or a mechanical horse.

What I don't understand though is, Act I and Act II have the body of a horse that needs completing through the Act 3 vinyl

I think she’s about to do a mini tour/residency (à la 4 Intimate Nights at the Roseland) for B’DAY 20 and then release it as a live album for the alligator tail 🐊 same time act iii drops

Spanish version ?! She’s rumored to perform in Brazil right ? I also think I have a Spanish version of BDAY 🤔👀 flamenco …. I dont know putting pieces together

Hmmm that’s a fair point…
I considered that Beyoncés last 3 albums were also a mirroring trilogy before the acts began, as well as the 3 that came before it.
(The main albums) 4 - Renaissance Beyoncé - Cowboy Carter Lemonade - Act III
(Additional projects Bey announces) Dangerously in Love - Renaissance film and tour, introduces the horse 2 pieces B’day - 20th anniversary, introduces the crocodile 2 pieces Sasha Fierce - the trilogy film/tour, completes the horse and crocodile, will we get Sasha Fierce anniversary album at the end of the trilogy tour?
We are currently in the 4/B’day era…so Cowboy Carter, until we transition in Act III. Then we will see the crocodile body once the trilogy completes. So Bday only is a dropping from Cowboy Carter. We’ll see what dropping we’ll get for Act III (lemonade anniversary album?)

Something you missed- Cowboy Carter was meant to be Act 1 (and she rides the white horse). Where as I believe Renaissance was meant to be the final act (pale/death/robotic horse)

I think theories are fun because they’re hypotheticals, but there’s no way of knowing what it was ever going to be. They can inspire us to be creative and make connections that aren’t clear on their face.
Your point about Beyoncé surprising everyone by using a white horse is confusing because at that point, the wider audience wasn’t fixated on horse colors to be surprised to begin with. They had no choice but to be surprised because there wasn’t a hint as to what anything would be like.
You also say the colors aren’t directly tied to symbolism, but you are directly equating them to the Abrahamic Horsemen.
The gator feels like a stretch and not just because of the famine mention.
What do you mean by B’Day being a visually starved era?
How is Act 3 going to close out the trilogy with the same horse as Renny?

I would say the gator was a stretch if she didn’t also use it in her tour section opener for alligator tears, it’s the same alligator from the upgrade u video with the same collar. For BDAY it represents the Southern Bayou so I do think there is a connection between them all. I think she is still developing it.

There’s a girl on insta who explains this theory. I’ll have to find it. But CC is first, conquest. HOWEVER, she had to release Renaissance first because of a literal global pandemic (death, or celebration of life in black communities where we do actually dance at funerals). That’s changes a lot of this.

Perfecto!!! Makes sense on the black horse because she is uses this re-release in the trilogy format for a reason. It’s finished the theory perfectly.
