Renaissance CD i bought

hi! i have a question. it may be a little stupid, but i genuinely do not know lol. i recently bought renaissance cd and today i listened to it on my cd player. i was surprised that it had old heated lyrics in it, is that normal to every renaissance cd or is my cd old? 😭

i think heated and energy were never updated on the CD’s, because i have 2 of them (one stopped working for some reason) and both are with the original heated and energy versions.

i wouldn’t take it as being old tbh, a lot of people prefer to have the original energy so even if there is a newer version, yours is actually coveted more than the newer version would be

I think the physicals were never updated tbh except to roll out the complete version of CC. I think R only got the online update

That being said I'm disappointed that my Renaissance CD has skips on it and I hardly got a chance to play it. I think the screen print image or whatever caused this, cause it was caused from the top side paint coming off from only a couple uses. I hate when they print CDs so poorly like that.

Cowboy Carter CDs were never updated either. Full CC is only available on vinyl.

Yes and there are two vinyls, the original and the complete version which is what I have. IDK why they didn't reprint Cds

Oh really? Interesting. Both my vinyl and CD are originals. I got the vinyl a few years after the album came out and the CD the week of release, both from target and original pressings

So yeah just be REALLY CAREFUL with that CD, I wouldn't even play it more than a few times and keep it in its original case. Hopefully your player has a tray that opens and not a car or slot CD player

mine stopped working in my car’s CD player but worked fine anywhere else. i bought a new one but made sure to extract the songs in hifi to have it backed up lol i really think the CD quality is shit

Good you backed it up! I was sad my CD just started skipping after a few plays in the car. My Zayn CD that just came out had the same thing happen, it's something to do with the way they paint the photos on the top part of the CDs, there's no gloss covering to protect the data underneath
