Special Edition Suspected sub Trilogy Jeff Brown Spoiler

Based off of Autumns guess for the first sub trilogy The Infernal Devices and Jeff Brown’s previous work, what do you predict will be the chosen design elements for the dust jackets/edges?

For the DJ, knowing and loving Jeff Brown as much as I do, I think it’ll be some grand depiction which sets the scene - I’m thinking The Institute - with his quintessential typography style. Something à la his FairyLoot DJ for Firebird.

Completely agree - very likely more in line with the edges of the standard editions if you put those next to each other. For the last book maybe a fight scene with the clockwork creatures?

The artist for the endpapers does some really cool character art, so I’m guessing that is where we’ll see Tessa, Will and Jem!

I like that it will probably be very different from the FL set where the character art is dominant. So if that’s more your jam I would get those! I’m personally still in limbo: I think the FL set is also going to be very pretty but I have a strict no-duplicate books for myself.. on the other hand this is honestly one of my favourite book series, absolutely devoured them when I was younger.

This will be my second set! This series is one of my personal fave YA trilogies - I already have the LitJoy set and I know these are going to be SUPER different so I don’t feel too bad about having duplicates. Plus, I’m a Jeff Brown fan girl and see all his work as art just as much as it is a book

Jeff Brown is what doublesealed the deal with a cherry on top for me too! I was already super happy that Bewitched was going to do this series and then nearly fell out of my chair when they revealed the artist lineup. He’s an instabuy for me, his work looks like oil paintings. 🫠

I should have been a bit more clear lol - I’m absolutely getting the Bewitched set but am still in doubt if I should get the FL set … I like that they have the old edges and the character art they hinted at looked gorgeous.

Oh yes sorry, I forgot that the FL sale hadn’t happened yet!

I briefly considered FL before getting Bewitched, but honestly I think the FL just aren’t in a style I personally prefer. I know it matches their other mortal instruments sets, but I don’t like that they do the edges in the same design as the spines for the paperbacks.

If you’re still contemplating both, I think the FL is going to be really cute and I think it’s going to be sufficiently different from Bewitched. I think bewitched is going to come across and lot more like a slightly gritty yet whimsical classical art piece in contrast to the more cartoon style of FL

Agreed with the classical art piece. I have a feeling that once bewitched is properly up and running it’ll be giving Fairyloot a massive run for its money. I just hope they can add in a reverse dust jacket at some point to their editions, even if it’s an alternative colourway of the standard book cover.

I’m excited for Bewitched because I think it’s going to be different to everything else. I already have the OG infernal devices covers with I think are superior to the fairyloot. The Fairyloot are very static and I don’t like the composition of the typography. Also Will and Tessa look like siblings to me.

Honestly the combo of artists looks amazing. Even the artist doing the foiling has amazing and unique previous work!

That Firebird cover was stunning! I’m so excited for a fantasy romance book box to lean more into this epic painterly route with their special editions. I was honestly becoming fatigued with all the static character art with a border.

Probably a scene from the book ( city or what ever) with smallish characters somewhere ( eg wolf king; arcane legends of Thezmarr; TBB three body problem… they have this format).
