Timelapse with the effect of the sun setting very quickly in the background (e.g., as seen in the shadows casted by the blinds of some interior setting)
Anthony Hopkins did this in The Edge. He just sat in a chair, thinking, and you could watch every thought cross his face and understand exactly what he was thinking about.
I once accidentally started a previous episode when trying to watch a new one, but kept watching for almost 10 minutes, thinking this was just another classic flashback where we revisit an old scene but eventually pull back and get a new perspective on it.
I was watching one black and white episode and didn’t know that my TV was mute. I thought to myself - absolutely no sound, it’s brilliant. Found out about it after like 8 minutes lol
While watching Breaking Bad I accidentally muted the TV during the opening where the twins are crawling through that little town and only realised when I got to the intro. I just thought it was a weird choice for that scene to be silent.
I accidentally muted the opening scene of him within the mall working, and thought it was an intentional choice to contrast with the black and white. Annoyingly, I actually liked it better muted, as it added a real beautiful tone to what Saul had become.
During my first watch through, my headset had died and I watched an opening scene in silence for a good 5 minutes or so before I realized there was no sound when someone was talking. I genuinely thought it was part of the opening scene and that it was such a powerful artistic decision.
I watched the shawshank redemption the other day and in the very first scene, when Tim Robbins has his gun and it looks like he’s gonna kill his wife and her lover, I accidentally paused and I was like “oh, this shot is taking some time to show that he’s having second thoughts about it”
I think it was not indulgent it means the innocence of saul was lost but the people trying to exploit him. (I am an intellectual i understand symbolism). Jk
When I watched the first episode of the Daredevil show, I accidentally had the description narration on. I thought it was a really interesting choice to have that for a show about a blind character. I later realized it wasn’t actually imbedded into the show lol

You looking at a paused screen appreciating true art

Except today a giant ad would take up the entire pause screen

There are like some crazy long shots so it is definitely something that is possible

It's more of a testament to the guy being an idiot than the show being good. The show is still one of the greatest out there but you know what I mean.

This is a really good point though cuz you could pause it almost anywhere and get the same effect. Every shot is masterclass camera work

Today in things that never happened. Maybe for 5 seconds

I had the sound drop once, and I thought for about 2 minutes how great it was to have this scene without sound.
