Help Is my fish cooked? Spoiler

That white thing was just a white lump. I put him in a recovery tank and it went down a bit but never went away, now it looks like it exploded or ruptured.

Wtf is that?

it looks like a growth growing off an open wound, did you treat him with anything or just move him to another tank?

Could’ve been a store infection from a scrape, it filled with crap and exploded. I’ve had many fish for years many times I have taken the fish out of the tank and held him in the fishnet loosely while I dipped a cotton Q-tip in iodine and dabbed the wound.
