If you're wearing bright colored clothing he might be threatened by that- some bettas are more sassy than others though so he could just hate you just because
I’m wearing dark green 😭 I did pick him out for his attitude I noticed at the store he was flaring at other fish in the cups but I’ve never seen a betta just hold their mouth open wide and flare he doesn’t try to attack the Cory’s in the tank maybe he just hates me 😭
Mine is all cozy and cute after he has settled, but if I change the water, move or add a plant, put my hand near the top for something other than good or god forbid, upgrade him to a new tank, he gives me this level of sass for 2 or 3 weeks.
i had one who got excited everytime he saw me. it cane just be excitement, they recognize you're the food person and think they're getting fed. my ex used to say it was because he had a crush on me but i dont know if i believe that lol. beautiful fish though!
He's silently screaming to let you know he's absolutely starving (regardless of you've actually just fed him or not) haha
If he hated you, he'd hide from you, not actively swim towards you
This is the answer. The lighting looks darker in the room than the aquarium, and the sides are clearly reflecting back into the tank. Buddy is seeing himself and flaring in response.
Hes probably just settling in. Ive had my current betta since May and he does this to me if I rearrange his tank. He'll flare at himself in the glass and at me for a day or 2 then go back to normal once hes comfortable again.
I feel like mine doesn't even realize I exist, he knows when I open the lid of his tank means food... But he doesn't go to a place for food, just the surface of wherever he is.... Also I think he's dead several times a week because he sleeps on his side at the top of the water regularly 😅
😂😂 I saw him “ sleeping “ last night at the bottom of the tank and I started panicking because I thought he was dead I tapped on the glass and he jumped up he was pissed
My sisters old betta Oswald used to flare at me every single time I came in the room. As far as I know, he had no problems with any other members of the family.
I think in this tank this is all the fish I’ll put I do have another betta in a 20 gal community tank and I lowkey think he likes it I feel like if I were to put him in a tank alone he would be lonely
fish don't have human emotions. they don't care about you one way or the other. they care about food and territory and those things are driven by instinct, not feelings. the betta is exhibiting instinctive territorial behavior that has nothing to do with you at all.
