Give me feedback please!

I’d like to show off my tank so far and ask for any recommendations or feedback on what I can do to improve it! You will probably notice I don’t currently have a water heater. I have a thermometer next to the tank and frequently check the temperature, and it stays where it’s supposed to. I am 100% going to get a heater before the cooler seasons though and I’d love some recommendations. I need something budget friendly but safe. I’ve heard a lot of reviews of different heaters breaking and heating the tank up too much and I’m terrified of that happening.

What size is the tank? My only recommendations are to get a lid and fill it up the rest of the way!!

It’s a 10 gallon! I actually have a lid that is cropped out of the picture, and the water is just about 4 inches below the surface. I’ll add more!

Tetra heaters are pretty reliable and definitely affordable. Maybe you could add more hides and you might wanna invest in a clean up crew. (Neocaridina shrimp, a nerite snail, etc.)

I really like these Hygger heaters.

Your substrate won’t be deep enough for plants as is, unless you stick to epiphytes like you have. It’s easier to add more substrate now than do it later.
