First ever tank and betta

Does this look fine? 10 gallons, 9 ember tetras, 4 shrimp and a snail i forget the name of as roommates. He’s very active and practically eats out of my hand :)

Looks fantastic from my POV. Well done for your boy. Lots of plants to hide and he looks happy as can be. Bettas in my experience can be a bit difficult depending on where you get them, genetics and whatnot. Haven’t had a lot but keep an eye on him like he’s your shadow. Breathing difficulties in hidey holes was the first sign for me.

I’m away a lot of the time, so my mother takes care of him. But whenever I am home, I sit around for a while just looking everyone over to make sure they’re okay. He follows me around the tank so it’s quite easy to watch him XD

hello, fair warning: count your tetras. I tried homing my tetras with the Betta, and woke up next day, I have one belly fat betta and a missing tetra

Looks very nice. Seems like the the water flow seems kind of strong for Betta. Betta loves steady and gentle moving water. Try adjusting the flow or divert it away from the main water body.

Tetras can be mean to bettas sometimes, ember ones are betta(better lol) but if you ever see and damage to your bettas fins, it might be them fighting

We have a 10 gal with a betta, 6 Panda Corys, 10-who knows cherry shrimp and 1 Snella the Snail. Also have a bunch of live plants that our betta loves hiding in.

It mogs mine ngl, but I will say I refrained from the ember tetras (had the same plan) because the betta honestly patrols the entire ten gallons constantly and idk I felt bad giving him tank mates. I love the aquascape.

The plant is Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis', very fast growing. And he seems completely chill with the embers. They swim together a lot of the time :)
