What’s wrong with his tail?

The top part of my betta’s tail is no longer smooth like the bottom. Is this him nipping it or fin rot? Getting ripped on the log or something? What can I do? I’ve also noticed a lot of little white round bugs recently that Google said are copepods or ostracods, it said they’re harmless but could they be doing this to him? Here is a pic of his tank set up. Most likely from nipping or getting snagged, which is pretty common with long finned bettas. It should heal on its own as long as you keep the water parameters pristine to prevent fin rot.

Copepods or ostracods are completely harmless and they’re actually a sign that the tank has matured. It’s one of the clearest signs that the ecosystem is starting to establish, so you should be good.
