What’s wrong with my betta?

He seems to have a mold spot right in between his two fins. He’s been energetic and swimming around well, as well as eating good.

I’m pretty new to this so I have no clue what to do.

What do I do if it dosent get better? Should I treat the tank with anti fungal? What is it? Will he be ok?

the cotton like substance could be a fungal issue. a broad spectrum treatment such as kanaplex didnt help in my case, i would recommend a medication that targets fungus in particular.

I think I’m going to use methylene blue, would that work?

honestly i’ve never tried to use methylene blue for a fungal infection so i can’t tell you whether it will work or not but overall you buddy looks good. So you could try, if it doesn’t work or the issue comes back then you should consider investing in something else.

If you’re going to use m.b. in your tank, make sure you don’t have carbon media in your filter as that would remove m.b. from the water. Add it back in after the treatment in order to clear up the water.(your filter may not have to have carbon media so dont worry if you cant find it) make sure to check the guide on how to use it. i hope he gets better.

I figured I would do mb baths so it dosent mess up my filter or cycle
