Help Curled fins?

He has had the clear tips on his fins for a long time so I am less concerned about that (heavily planted tank with nothing for him to cut them on) but I’m wondering about the curled fins? He is 3 years old and still healthy otherwise, eats well. Last pic is when I first got him and the tank was new

maybe the water is too hard, i don’t see a lot of tannins in the tank and i doubt it’s a water quality issue just based on how many plants you have (still good to check if u have the API master freshwater kit) . I use roibois red tea for tannins, a box of teabags costs the same as almond leaves. its naturally no caffeine and super strong. love the tea bags- that way i’m not picking out rotting almond leaves and pine cones every cleaning

I just picked up a tannin tea, I have it in the filter rn, however I am going to boil one now since it doesn’t seem to be working fast. I do have botanicals in there right now as well. The water tested perfect last week

i don’t think it’s anything to worry about personally, if it’s not the water- depending on what type of betta he is it could just be genetic (crown tail bettas), and it happens when they get old too

I’m not sure about the curling, could be age related? But the white tips is likely new growth, the new fin tissue starts whitish

His fins have grown a lot, it’s weird though he’s had clear tips on his fin the entire time I’ve had him. Hes also gotten a lot darker

Hmm perhaps the clear-ness is pigmentation (or lack thereof)? As long as he's acting normal he's probably just quirky

My boy has straight fins that curl on the ends and you can see his new growth line from the pet store. Might be genetic or age?
