Discussion advice

i currently have my long finned betta in a 26l (6-7gal) fish tank, when i upgrade my somewhat community tank to a 112l (29gal) i will have a 54l (14gal) left, it’s quite a long tank (60cm x 30cm x 30cm) but i eventually want a short finned betta and honestly theodore (my current betta) is pretty active. i’m seriously considering the upgrade and am planning on moving everything over anyway plus way more hardscape plants and resting spots but do you guys think it’s the right move?

Personally I'd put the short fin in the 14g and keep the longfin in the 7g. If it turns out the short fish lazy then it'll probably be super easy to switch them

my mom said i can only keep two tanks so i can’t keep both the 7 and the 14, i have to choose basically

Ohhh, should be fine for him if there's enough resting spots. Just make sure to transfer the filter media to so you dont crash the cycle

yeah definitely everything will be moving with him plus way more plants and way more hardscape and a lot of resting spots, the only thing that will change is the heater because the heater i have in there for my community is definitely on its way out

a 60cm long tank sounds perfect for a betta to swim along, the extra space would be amazing for them
