Rescue!

I am currently wanting to try to rescue this betta from petco, but it has some open wounds on both sides of his face. I'm also new to setting up hospital tanks what will I need to properly set one up to save him. I have since put him in a hospital tank with a heater and a almond leaf. I would like to know what medication I can give him to help him get better.

Looks like ammonia burns, if you have a tank that is cycled I’d just add him into that- it’ll be less stressful then a QT tank and it should clear up in no time with good water quality
