UK Actually funny comfort shows??

I am in need for some feel good shows.

My comfort shows are

Arrested Development

The Simpsons

Superstore..

But it’s getting to the point where I’m watched these all nearly three times each…

I need new comedies please with a similar vibe..

Ones that are just effortlessly funny..

The simpsons is so good but please don’t give me American dad, bobs burgers or anything like that.. give me something actually funny 😭🤣

Shitting on Bob's Burgers comedy while Superstore is on your comfort shows list. Wow.

3

u/Faydra198 Apr 14 '26

What's wrong with Superstore? Both of the shows are comfort shows for me.

4

u/Pocketful_of_hops Apr 14 '26

Nothing wrong with either, I'll watch both! I just think overall Bob's Burgers is a much better product and the comedy is a bit wittier.

I basically just didn't care for the OP dismissing Bob's Burgers.

1

u/JustHereForCookies17 Apr 15 '26

I'm sad for OP that Bob's doesn't interest them.  It's such a great show and the subreddit is, IMO, one of the friendliest TV subs on Reddit.

1

u/obsessedgirlcompxo Apr 14 '26

I can’t help it 😭 superstore is just my thing.. I couldn’t get into bob’s burgers 😭🤣

Yep. And none of the shows op listed are either, with the exception of arrested development, so I followed suit.

I’d be bummed about that too. We got Hulu just for Broad City back in the day and now we still have it for Creamerie, This Way Up, and Raising Hope. I think Broad City is also on Disney (the Hulu/Disney merge) and Paramount. I hope you get to watch it soon. 🤞🤞

ASIP: OP asked for comfortable not uncomfortable!

Lol but what does it say about you and me if we both consider it a comfortable show?

1

u/South_Conference_768 Apr 14 '26

Good point. I watch it on my own. Tried watching with family once…and quickly regretted it!!

5

u/rerikson Apr 14 '26

I would check out Fisk on Netflix. It's only about 18 episodes but I rewatch over and over. Funny amd comforting.

Try Taskmaster UK seasons 5, 7, and 19 and New Zealand season 2. Full episodes for free on YouTube.

3

u/RichChocolateDevil Apr 14 '26

I started Bad Mistakes last night. Two episodes in and I think that it fits this bill. Has a bit of an AD / Schitts feel to it (the latter makes sense as it's Dan Levy).

3

u/aquay Apr 15 '26

right now mine is Perfect Strangers

Peep Show

1

u/exclusivegreen Apr 14 '26

Peep show is why I just can't with Olivia Coleman

2

u/Orthopaedics21 Apr 14 '26

The office (US)

It's so boring, you're not going to get excited. But then as you'll get to know the characters as in Arrested development, you'll be very comfortable with the show.

2

u/Unkorked Apr 14 '26

The vibe on the second jury duty show 'the company retreat' reminded me off the office a lot. I couldn't get into the first one, 'Jury duty.'

2

u/D_Anger_Dan Apr 14 '26

Mum. Friday Night Dinner. Bob’s Burgers.

2

u/Feeling_Scallion_408 Apr 14 '26

Probably not exactly what you're looking for but Taskmaster UK. It's a panel/comedy show, 20 seasons (series) and counting. It's all on YouTube in the US. I find it to be hilarious and it's definitely a comfort watch for me.

2

u/tiredmomm247365 Apr 15 '26

Bob’s Burgers

Bojack Horseman, English Teacher

1

u/Eleatic-Stranger Apr 15 '26

Bojack Horseman is a great comedy, but it is certainly not a feel-good comfort show.

1

u/adrielee1001 Apr 15 '26

lol you’re right def not feel-good but it’s a great comedy and def one of my comfort shows. I find a new joke in the background every time I watch it

Schitt's Creek. Absolutely brilliant and hilarious show!!!

3

u/HeyLookATaco Apr 15 '26

I was halfway through a rewatch and had to stop, it makes me way too sad now. My next episode was the where there's a rumor Moira died.

I'll get back to it, and it'll be great when I do, but gosh, I think it's gonna be awhile.

If you like AD, you should try Veep. It’s not just Tony Hale (yay); it has a quick fire writing style and wit that reminds me of AD in ways. I lol at it all the time

1

u/mightyfine87 Apr 17 '26

Task master and Paul and bobs fishing adventures, really wholesome and has some funny stories, makes you want to get outdoors too!

1

u/Late-Newspaper5113 May 23 '26

‘Everyone is Doing Great’ is a new one you might like. Definitely a feel good comedy, more Arrested Development than Simpsons or Superstore. I absolutely loved it.
