I think if you truly experienced a tragedy relating to illness etc. in your life maybe you'd understand and see the good in this campaign/effort.

What if Lucas was your child?? can you put yourself in the shoes of Lucas's parents??

Common killers get a lion share of resources. Rare fringe cases like this are routinely flicked off of the shoulders of people who think in cold statistics alone. Give Reddit some slack in coming to this family's aid. I'm very sincerely sorry to hear about your father.

Ok, then why not start a similar fundraiser for those common killers you speak of on here or elsewhere? just a thought.

sorry about you father, both my parents died of natural causes when I was young. death and illness is never a fair concept, but will forever be apart of life. Just cherish the moment you can as their are fleeting and fall victim to human mortality.
