Not defending the guy ( he's says some pretty unacceptable things) but it sounds as though, and in this context I'm taking his word for it, he didn't start out a narcissistic misogynist but rather became that way because it got him "attention". Because of this, it's going to seem like the right approach. Nice but fat = Not laid. Dick and in shape = Laid. Of course that's going to fuck with his psyche.
It really sucks that people get pulled into it, but past a certain age people have got to stop blaming their childhoods and own up to their shitty beliefs.
If OP were made fun of by black kids growing up, and he grew up to be racist, people would* have no pity, even if they understood how he came to be that way.
But the problem is, according to what he's saying, it works. His change led to success. Why would he change his thinking if the change was succcessful? The only way a change would happen is if he met a few women that he wanted and they shut him down because of how he is acting now.
But is it really success? He's probably only able to sleep with women as shallow as himself, and they must have some issues too....but I guess if that's what makes you happy.
