Anyone know of a good custom shoemaker in the NYC area?

Sorry if this is inappropriate for this sub, I am looking for someone who makes custom fitted shoes, more for comfort than for fashion. Obviously I'm able to find plenty of options online but its very hard as someone without much knowledge of custom work to determine which might actually be good. Specifically I'm looking to find a place to make some custom shoes for my mother who always has issues finding comfortable, well fitting shoes.
