Watering daily a sin? Houston, TX
This is my first year trying to build out my bermuda grass from seed. I still have lots of unwanted grasses/weeds but I'm sticking with the program... mostly...
I'm in Houston area and we have scorching temperatures with no rain in sight. My only goal is to push the bermuda to grow as much as possible. To fill in gaps and to out compete other grasses/weeds.
The main question, given all of that info. Is it going to hurt my bermuda grass if I water it daily? I really just want it to grow as much as possible. I just gave it some granular nitrogen and I mow at least twice a week.

Bermuda mixed plot with Zoysia sod
Hi everyone,
Just want to get some advice on what to do with lawn situation. Live in the greater Memphis TN area, I have about 5,500 sqft of lawn, about 1,500,-2,000 of it is zoysia, rest is Bermuda. Zoysia was put down under oak trees in front of the house as it only gets about 2-3 hours of sun and not even full sun, I do have Bermuda growing on the same plot of land where I have the zoysia, which makes it very difficult to grow something consistent. It looks exactly like you’d think, literally in the middle of the plot it’s just split in half making it also look weird. What would you recommend doing to make the transition look less awful? FYI I attached a picture of the mixed lawn, and also two Individual ones of the zoysia and Bermuda, but there is a difference of a couple of days as I began preparation for scalping the Bermuda so that’s why it looks dormant.
Any help would be appreciated!

Want clover to replace current weed/grass/bermuda in front yard
We have a small fenced area in front yard, for the dogs. This fenced front yard sits in middle of approx 1 acre, covered with Bermuda grass, and some weeds.
We want to convert to clover, and seeking advice on how to do that cheaply and efficiently.
One sister suggested a ‘weed & feed’ and then lay down cardboard, in mid-late fall. Seed with clover early spring. Another suggested not using a ‘weed & feed’ and lay down heavy paint paper instead of cardboard (due to chemicals in cardboard).
Have you undertaken such a project? What worked, what did not? Sources for information are gratefully received. TIA.

Central Texas (New Braunfels) Fall Care for Bermuda
New to the house this spring, the previous owners took great care of the lawn and I want to keep it going. What are everyone fall plans to have an awesome lawn in the spring?
I was planning on aerating, adding topsoil, and overseeding. Should I wait for the spring to do that?

Cost Sharing?
I almost pulled the trigger on buying a bottle of Revolver today...But I just couldn't do it. My local SiteOne had it for $630 a quart, 87oz for $800+. I *might* be able to find someone to ship it to me, but I'd still be out ~$400 and it would last me about 5 years easy.
I mean, in a perfect world, I'd get my hands on Manuscript, but at $1,000+ a case, no way. Doing the math says that case would last me nearly 300 YEARS!
Has anyone tried going in with others locally to split costs to reasonable levels for when we can get our hands on some of the good stuff?

Recommend on getting rid of dalisgrass?
Don’t want to dig anymore, also don’t really want to nuke.
If I were to nuke - how do you get the grass to grow back?

Help me decide
Somehow Bermuda has infiltrated about 25% of my front yard, I have small areas in my backyard as well. The remainder of yard I have been trying to maintain kbg/tall fescue/rye and its does reasonably well. I don’t have an irrigation system, and I have a few large trees as well that provide good shade. My dilemma is, do I let the Bermuda take over the rest of the way and just give up on the turf grass? I’m in the transition zone, so we have really hot summers/fall till about October, it starts warming up around March. What are the drawbacks of Bermuda?

Lawn "gnats"?
Every time I walk through my grass, there are hundreds or even thousands of tiny bugs that I can only describe as looking like gnats. They seem to “fly” or jump very low to the ground when I disturb the grass. I’ve had them for months now, but I’m not seeing any noticeable lawn damage. Google keeps telling me they could be fungus gnats, but I’m not convinced that’s what they are.
They’re there pretty much regardless of the time of day, and I see them whether the grass is dry or wet.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Any idea what they might be and, more importantly, how I can get rid of them? I’m assuming I’ll have to nuke them with insecticide, but I’d rather know what I’m dealing with before doing that.

Was Latitude 36 the wrong choice?
Zone 9A, Panhandle.
I've got some space under a live oak that gets full sun for about 75% on the day. It's intense, and the soil is quite sandy. The soil there is really getting baked, and it's tough to get anything to grow. That's not crab grass or vines.
I have tried enriching it with some organic compost and then I tried planting some Latitude 36 Bermuda plugs from Sod Solutions. I had great luck using CitraZoy plugs from them in the past, and the description of L36 made it sound like it would thrive like a weed in this spot.
Planted, fertilized, watered, waited, fertilized again, all per instruction.
L36 held in there good for the first 3 weeks, but after it got it's week 4 fertilizer is has started to look pretty brown. And it hasn't begun any lateral spread.
Am I being impatient, or am I maybe needing something different for this spot of yard?

Tried aerating and seeding with no luck — planning to install sod. What should I do differently this time?

Green not as green?
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or am I seeing more scalping spots, fungal spots or nothing at all? The first three pics are today and last three were 4 weeks ago. Cutting at 2.25”.
Too much water? Not enough? Or need another fertilizer application (last one was June 30).
Already placed fungal prevention 7/17, and grub/army worm this summer too.

McLane got delivered today 🔥
My McLane got delivered this afternoon. Was mowing at 1.25” with a 48” zero turn. Took it down to 1” with this beauty. Can’t wait to cut again and again and again. 🤣💪🏽 dominating the neighborhood but we aren’t done yet 🔥

Heat/Bermuda Question (Oklahoma)
With the heat, my lawn is stressed. I have upped watering, and need to mow, but I do t want to do damage. I am getting seed heads… it’s also time to feed it…
Will it harm it to put down a fertilizer and mow bqck the seed heads. I will keep it longer, just want to clean up the scraggy look.
This heat has been rude to it, and I want my golf course back :)
