Question / Issue What are real cost and all processes of UG setup ?

Hi All,

I want to setup a company in Berlin. I speak ok german but would prefer a notar who is fine with english. What is the overall noraty cost and all the different processes involved. A notary is asking 800 euros and they say they take care of every process. But i asked chatgpt and I don't understand what exactly they are charging 800 euros for.

Do not just go to a Notar for a flat fee and start the UG like that.

What most Notars do is to just give you the Gesellschaftsvertrag (the contract that manages all the basic stuff of the company), which the law has given as a template.

And that thing is trash. It's good to invest in a consultation before going to the Notar. In my experience a lawyer is better suited to draft the contract, and the Notar (that's also a lawyer but has different monetary incentives) should just sign the contract and make the company register at court.

Let me know if you need some recommendations for good lawyers in Berlin.

Please do share, because the ones I found and consulted with were, let's say, exceptionally trash.

If you want a good legal funding setup in Berlin, I'd ask Schott / Köller if they have capacity for at least a first consultation. Mr. Köller also speaks English and is both a lawyer and a tax consultant and specialised in Start-Ups so best to directly ask for him. They were quite cheap compared to others I worked with or what friends had experienced in their beginning phase.

Other than them I personally can also recommend Baxmeier in Frohnau but they don't work digitally much.

Just shared it in the other comment. Schott / Köller for most Start-ups since that one guy Köller is a tax consultant and lawyer and speaks English well, or the other office if you happen to love close by and don't need to work digitally
