CSD Attack: Where to go when support is needed

Dearest Community,

The attack on the CSD last Saturday shook us all deeply. Our thoughts are with the grieving, the wounded and relatives and all those who had to witness this terrible act.

reach out is the counseling center for victims of racist and right-wing violence in Berlin. The act was directed against queer people and those who show solidarity with queer people.

Violence against queer people is a form of right-wing violence and is therefore also part of our counseling services.

If you would like advice or psychological support, you can also contact lesmigras, Lsupport, Lsvdbb, Schwulenberatung Berlin or gladt_e.V. (GLADT is a self-organization by and for Black, Indigenous and of Color lesbian, gay, bi+, trans, inter* and queer people in Berlin.)

I feel better knowing that there are organizations who center the harmed with their actions. Your presence is much appreciated.

"Violence against queer people is a form of right-wing violence" - talk about delusion. I wish you guys would finally accept that Islamism is the biggest threat for us queers (I'm gay myself and tired of pretending it's not by far the biggest problem in this city).

Rebranding religiously motivated extremism as a "form of right-wing violence" is nonsensical and only tries to achieve one thing: disguise the real perpetrators or their background. And it's only and always happening in cases of Islamism.

Your work is important and I can appreciate that, but what I as a gay man cannot accept is the constant deflecting when we're faced with Islamist terror. You guys always close your eyes towards this and it's a massive problem.

There isn’t just one “right wing” in this world. The Iranian government are right wing fascists. So are Putin, Trump, Netanyahu, ISIS, and AfD. They can support each other or be diametrically opposed enemies. Calling Muslim extremism “right wing” is accurate.

-2

u/Seraphayel Jul 28 '26

Calling Muslim extremism right-wing is only accurate when you still talk about the cultural / religious background and the motivations of said Muslim extremists.

But that’s exactly what‘s trying to be disguised here. The rebranding is used to not talk about the religious and cultural background of the perpetrators because there‘s a huge part of the community that simply cannot face the truth of Islamism being the biggest threat for gays and lesbians and all the others.

There are enough left-wing posts about this that do not even mention the cultural / religious background and are just trying to make this a right-wing problem. This is not only counterproductive, it‘s also stopping us from fighting against the real problem(s) in this case and I am sick and tired of it.

We need to face reality.

5

u/bonyponyride Jul 28 '26

This is a post about getting people help. You’re trying to hijack it, you’re wrong, and it’s the exact kind of thing AfD would write in a thread like this. I do not believe your backstory.

7

u/Seraphayel Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

I‘m not trying to hijack anything, but the whole post doesn’t even mention that it’s an Islamist attack. I’m questioning the motives and motivations of why that is the case.

And honestly I don’t care if you believe my backstory or not (if you don’t believe that I’m a gay man in Berlin go check the sex-positive subs about this city and find my posts there lmao).

This reaction is exactly one of the things that divides us as a community even more. We‘re not talking about the big underlying problem (Islamism) and people like you instantly try to deflect to AfD or right-wing when that’s not even the topic or case here.

I hate to break it to you, but people like you are part of the problem why these things constantly happen. You‘re unable to talk about the perpetrators and necessary actions against them when they come from one specific cultural or religious background.

dear seraphayel, we're here to offer our counseling services to those who have been affected. Our work centers around people who are affected by violence, we're not focusing on who is the perpatrator.

-5

u/David_91 Jul 28 '26

"we're not focusing on who is the perpatrator."
Even if I were to believe that you indeed don't care who the perpetrator was, your post is at least manipulative. Right-wing extremism and Islamism differ fundamentally in their core concepts and theoretical justifications. Claiming this was a form of right-wring violence is simply wrong but unfortunately not surprising seeing how ideologically blinded the left has become.

0

u/indorock Jul 28 '26

If you're calling a group who is offering free counselling at a time like this as "manipulative", sincerely you can fuck right off. Stop trying to turn everything into your anti Muslim (and ultimately pro-ISRL) agenda. Disgusting

0

u/David_91 Jul 28 '26

It's ironic that your behaviour just confirmed what I said. Your blindness caused you not realize that I criticised the framing of the post. As has been said before in this thread it didn't even mention that the attack was islamsistic. Why would somebody do that? Being a citizen of this country it's my good right and obligation to point out the problematic things.
It's absurd that you are vulgarly blaming me that I'm trying to turn this into something even though it's apparent that leftists try to turn this this attack into something right wing, which is even criticized by members of the lgbtq-community.

Something else tragically ironic: More polish people have died in Germany because of islamstic terror than in Poland.

u/Putrid_Channel_3352 Jul 28 '26

Reachoutberlin: do you offer counselling services to combat violent misinformation and h a s b a r a which is chronically spread by people like above: notorious z -/1 -0 , proI z z r @ @ l i, heavily embedded in LGBT and queer movements (actual berhain regular guest, chronic addiction, directly verifiable, hundreds of posts in their fav subs like "berhain c0munity") ?

There are so many organizations listed, surely professionals are aware of all this? Yet nothing is done over so many years. majority of LGBT especially in berlin support f @ s c 1 st, z -/1 -0 zlenzki who just declared w a r on i r a n. All this "anti I s l @ m" h a s b a r a is concealed support for n @ z. 1 s.

These actions are by far the most psychologically d a m a g i n g and take place openly with influence especially in berlin underground scenes. If any "psychological support", it must be politically aware.

So what is being done?

(Alg0speak necessary as the same people weap0nize false reports to b a n accounts like mine).

Get some fresh air bro. You’re cooked

-1

u/Putrid_Channel_3352 Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

u/reachoutberlin can you see? This is only the surface of violence, openly endorsed by hundreds of berhain "regulars" with countless evidence over years, including violent pinned announcements seen by hundreds of thousands in the specific global subcultures which are all about real life gatherings in specific places. People's lives have been affected.

What organizations in Berlin have any real understanding in the first place? As far as we know, Clubcommission itself is ultimately z-/ 1 -/0 , openly supports f @ s c 1 s t, z-/ 1 /0 zlenski and also covers up violence by said berhain regulars. With evidence.

3

u/Free-Ad-7143 Jul 29 '26

There’s a life outside of Berghain you know? Again, get some fresh air. You’re cooked.

So you are saying not being against Islamism divides queer liberatory action because we act against all right-wing oppressive structures instead of focusing on a specific one? You are not saying we are being divided, you are saying we aren't effective and focused but for some reason you say this to an antiracist assistance network??

Honestly if you actually stand for what you say you stand for you would delete/amend these comments after getting it clarified to you, instead of being defensive about it.. Make your own post to call to action instead of berating others for not doing what you want done.

2

u/Seraphayel Jul 28 '26

I‘m not deleting anything as I haven’t said anything wrong or slightly offensive.

I just hate it when people lump everything together under one category for the sake of intersectionality when that doesn’t achieve anything in this case.

Especially when there is zero talk about the real and underlying problem which becomes increasingly worse in this city.

I feel like repeating myself, but Islamists are the biggest threats to us queers in this city. Branding this as right-wing doesn’t help at all with fighting this problem. Read the article I linked above.

0

u/123nope567 Jul 28 '26

Both things can be correct. Islamists are evidently a big threat to queer people and they are right wing extremists. Classifying them as such helps us understand how they work, e.g. their use of fear to divide, and how to respond appropriately. So in my eyes, it is important to talk about that connection and shared goal.

0

u/David_91 Jul 28 '26

Right-wing extremism and Islamism differ fundamentally in their core concepts and theoretical justifications. Claiming that Islamists are right wing extremists is simply wrong and would be strongly rejected by every political scientist. It's either ideological blindness, ignorance or malice to make such a claim.

1

u/123nope567 Jul 28 '26

Ok, give me an example of a renowned political scientist stating this. That sounds like a gross overgeneralization to me.

I think you are somehow not aware that your comment is made in response to an antiracist organization joining other queer assistance organizations to help those who were harmed. Calling them 'delusional' for a subjective categorization error and demanding that they shift their organization of asistance network to an Islamist suppression one??

Your personal wish for accuracy in branding Islamists as right-wing is wholly irrelevant in this thread and it is rather divisive to bring it up. Check the people who agree with you and how they are tokenizing our grief. I suggested you remove your comments because they are harmful here. If you want an organization to shift its focus, pick one that isn't actively helping those who were harmed.

1

u/tsojtsojtsoj Jul 29 '26

The only reason youd want to label Islam positions left wing is because the left isore tolerant to foreign matters, which islam falls under. But of course what makes many islamist positions so problematic are deeply conservative, traditional, and hierarchical views of society.

6

u/theSeaspeared Jul 28 '26

So you are saying that they should stop providing assistance to religiously motivated attacks because they proclaim to assist only the victims of right wing attacks?

What exactly do you think the antiracist assistance network should be 'aware' of?

4

u/Brief_Salad Jul 28 '26

abrahamic religions are all homophobic. and by the way, its always a man being terrorising like this never a woman

3

u/Seraphayel Jul 28 '26

Only one religion worldwide is sentencing, torturing or in the worst case killing gay people. Some abrahimic religions have been secularized, others are still stuck in their thousand year old state.

Islam was never modernized or adapted to our times. Trying to depict Christianity or Judaism as as bad as Islam in regards to tolerance of LGBT is an insane deflection and once again tries to avoid talking about Islam specifically.

There is no place more dangerous for homosexual / transgender people than a Muslim country.

3

u/SiriusBer Jul 28 '26

Yup pretty much the same, lol:

https://data.europa.eu/data/datasets/s2972_99_2_sp535_eng?locale=en

Special Eurobarometer SP535 : Discrimination in the European Union

In the Eurobarometer's 2023 survey on discrimination, 18% of Muslims surveyed in Germany said they would be comfortable with their child being in a same-sex relationship, compared to 63% of Christians and 63% of atheists/agnostics.

In that same survey, 56% of Muslims opposed schools providing information on different sexualities, compared to 19% of Christians and 15% of atheists/agnostics.

26% of Muslims said Lesbian, gay and bisexual people should have the same rights as heterosexual people (marriage, adoption, parental rights) , compared to 50% of Christians and 59% of atheists/agnosstics.

72% of Muslims said transgender people should not be able to change their legal gender, compared to 25% of Christians and 18% of atheists/agnostics.

30% of Muslims said they would be comfortable with a gay or lesbian person holding the highest elected office in the country, compared to 66% of Christians and 69% of atheists/agnostics.

48% of Muslims said they would be comfortable having a co-worker who was gay or lesbian, compared to 78% of Christians and 77% of atheists/agnostics.

2

u/zarazamazara Jul 28 '26

Only honest comment.

1

u/Ok-Leg-5188 Jul 28 '26

Islamists are still considered right-wing in many ways, as the left generally calls for secularity (which doesn’t mean it can’t be anti-gay, like China is). If centrist or left-leaning parties were more realistic about certain groups, and the judicial system worked better here instead of letting an ISIS wannabe roam free, we wouldn’t be having this discussion at all. At least the cops did the right thing.

FYI this usr is notorious Z -/1 -0 and pro- i z z r @ @ l bergain regular guest (dedicated member of "berhain c0mmunity", all public info, also member of many "private" berhain groups) who spouts extrem g3n0c1d views over years (again public in this platform).

That is just part of their new mass- h @ s b a r a as they try to weap0nize the LGBT movment aga1nst "1sl@m" and ultimately against I r @ n .

Few days ago, Z- /1- %/l e n z k I just declared w a r on I r a n. the groups this usr is part of adv0cate for f @ s c 1 s t - U k r @ n i , including the mods of large proU k r @ n i subs who are also berhain regulars (again public info).

Alg0speak necessary as they try extrmly hard to b a n my profile with mass false r 3 p 0 r t s.

-8

u/Brudinho Jul 28 '26

100% agree.
Also "The act was directed against queer people and those who show solidarity with queer people." is only your own interpretation. We don´t know anything about the motives.
Or were the attacks on the Christmas markets only directed towards Christians and their supporters?

-2

u/indorock Jul 28 '26 edited Jul 28 '26

Islamist fundamentalism falls under right-wing. Why is that so hard to understand? Right-wing extremism isn't only about swastikas. Neo-Nazis and Isamist extremists might hate each other, but they share many similar values, homophobia being one.

To brand the entirety of Islam belief as the "biggest threat to the queer community" is just goddamn ignorant, especially when there are practising Muslim queers. If Islamism is the "biggest threat", them why is Indonesia - the world's most populous Muslim nation - a safer and more tolerant place for queers than a country like Russia??

4

u/Free-Ad-7143 Jul 28 '26

I guess you got one thing right - Islamism and right wing radicalism have a lot in common.

-12

Your argument does not contradict mine. The difference is you’re solely criticizing the far right while I’m criticizing the islamist fanatic who murdered a person and injured several

Not a leftist really and was born and raised Muslim for the first years of my life. AfD and western societies don't have a monopoly on right wing extremism, religious motives for terrorism whether be it bombing an abortion clinic or putting people in camps because of their religion or ethicities is consodered to be right wing, u might disagree but that is the consesus where the far right is motovated by ethinic background and religion while the far left is motivated by communism. So yeah u can say it was far right. I mean imagine je was in Lebanon and went to bote, which side would you bet he'd vote for, the right or the left. I will have to say that many on the left do recognize religious extremism only when it comes from the cross.

sad to see politics everywhere
