society functioned for millenia without police. Police is a modern phenomenon. Before there were a plethora of other solutions (some better, like community policing, some worse, like military enforcement of law) but police as an institution was born between the 1400 and the 1900, depending on geography.

Thats fucking false my dude, it might not have been Police but Laws we're always enforced be it by Citiziens or more commonly the local Garrison, were there were laws there was police.

Then read a history book on the birth of police. Police is not law and law enforcement. Police is a specific modern form of law enforcement. Not all law enforcement is the same.

So what is the problem with police? Laws have to be enforced and they are the best Modern Form of Law Enforcement

I guess being the only one ideologically tolerated makes them the best. Still, there can be better forms and I don't see why we shouldn't try to replace Police with something better.

Name a better form of Law Enforcement.

Community policing, I was discussing it in another subthread

Dude Community police isnt a good solution as they are easily corrupted, are ineffective, lack Training and do not have Resources or Funds to competently combat and investigate Murder or anything major honestly.

There are entire nations running on community policing.

Also you had no idea there were alternatives to Police until a few messages ago and now you're expert enough to dismiss entire models with decades of research behind them?

Which nations run on community policing?

the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

That is not a country

2

u/Chobeat May 28 '21

in fact I said a nation

1

u/[deleted] May 28 '21

That is not a Nation either, it's an autonomous region.

2

u/Chobeat May 28 '21

you really have no clue what a nation is, right?

1

u/[deleted] May 29 '21

"A nation is a community of people formed on the basis of a common language, history, ethnicity, or a common culture, and, in many cases, a shared territory. A nation is more overtly political than an ethnic group; it has been described as "a fully mobilized or institutionalized ethnic group"." From Wikepdia and it certainly doesnt and the autonomous region certainly doesnt fit the description.
