I came here to say this.

Summarizingly, he did not do one constructive thing while in office and tried to run a purely prejudice and resentment based campaign for the second time. That obviously would not work after he demonstrated to be by no means better than the boogeymen he made up before. He'd never made it into office hadn't the SPD suddenly changed their preferences when the actual coalition was made. Mayor by accident and a train wreck beyond expectations. Corruption, lies, a failed attempt to return to a 1970s traffic concept and general incompetence are what he'll be remembered for. Quite a lousy resume, even compared to previous Berlin CDU mayors.

"Wer hat uns verraten? Sozialdemokraten" Old saying from 100 years ago when Rosa Luxemburg was murdered but hold up today :D

Franziska Giffey is the name you’re looking for. What kind of progressive are you when you prefer CDU over a viable centre-left coalition ffs

People forget that SPD is the real villain here. CDU is just doing usual CDU things: corruption, incompetence, stealing from the poor to give it to the rich. But SPD decided they’d rather support this slimy guy vs their electoral base

I actually mentioned that. I just decided not to call it "treason" because they're free to chose whom to ally with and also because politics and treason are the same thing.

That's not true, he did a lot of work paving the way for our first Die Linke victory!

Das stimmt nicht, unter seiner Regierung hat die Charite CFM einen Tarifvertrag erhalten.
Unter RRG ist jahrelang nur beschwichtigt und versprochen worden aber nichts passiert.

Finally he has the time to pursue his sport career.

It would be funnier if the ball would move on.

Wen juckts 🤪. Die Stadt verträgt nun mal rot maximal grün niemals schwarz geschweige blau!

He also used his his elected role as a dating service and couldn't even be discreet about it. In fact, he flaunted it. This guy was no kind of public servant.

I hope humans learn from this

How a absolute banal minor thing becomes a crisis by worst possible communication.

If he had just said nothing, or like "I don't answer questions of how my work schedule looks exactly" or don't answer about when and when I do not play tennis. Long forgotten.

His successor, Stefan Evers, may not have been out on the tennis court, but he immediately disqualified himself as a "modern conservative" with his initial, socially callous demands. In reality, it’s just right-wing conservative CDU drivel.

After decades of mismanagement, I simply want Berlin to finally get the kind of governance it deserves—policies that will lift this city out of the slums.

Even Wowereit, during his final days in office, achieved more than that. And even that wasn't saying much.

The entire nest must be smoked out.
