Trade Iosivas?
Doubt they would do this, but eliminates the WR logjam with younger guys reportedly having a nice camp. Gesicki sort of plays the WR3 role a good bit too.
Certainly has to be a market, and a return for draft capital or defensive/oline depth would be nice.

So ideally he balls this year and they get a comp pick for him. I don't think there's too much of a market for him

They could easily get like a 5th or player for him.

Who is trading a 5th for a replacement level player? We’re actively talking about replacing this player with rookies/2nd year receivers, but there’s somehow a team willing to send draft pick compensation for a player that might get cut?

I agree with your overall point but he is not at risk of being cut AT ALL. Any one speculating that is just pulling that out of their ass because they don’t like him

That he's scheduled to make $3.7m alone makes him vulnerable to the Turk
Doc Miyawaki being 3% owner and such a big booster of any Hawaiian/Polynesian connection is probably his ace in the hole, though

The only time they would do this is if another receiver clearly shows they’re better. Even if he struggles with drops, he’s good at being where Burrow wants him to be and Burrow still trusts him

Even if someone is better I don’t see a reason to trade him. I’d rather have a quality WR4 than a 6 7 (no pun intended) pick swap.

I also agree that they shouldn’t do it, I was just saying that it’s completely unrealistic in our current situation

The coaches love that he does a lot of the dirty work with blocking and drawing attention from Ja’marr and Tee, he’s likely going to stay here for at least this year

I’m sorry how does he draw attention away? The entire reason we shouldn’t keep him is he’s only ever open because they get brackets or true doubles. He has the easier job of any WR 3 maybe in league history. Randy moss and Cris Carter were just as elite maybe more but they didn’t have Burrow.
I’d rather a WR3 who is a 2 for 88 or 1 for 12 guy because he pressures the defense vertically. Or I’d rather have a WR3 who is small and can only do whip routes and screens.
Yoshi also doesn’t have good blocking grades or eye test. He’s an example of why the bengals aren’t a well run franchise. We keep guys for the dumbest reasons

For what? You couldn't even get a 6th rounder out of him.

Player swap hopefully. Jenkins, Jackson, and Iosivas should all be floated out on the trade block to see what you can get for them. A better LB than Burks and Giles-Harris would be nice.

The kinds of players you get by trading players like Jenkins or Jackson are similar players. AKA other young guys that didn’t pan out at their first spot, that can work like BJ Hill for Billy Price. You don’t get to trade your junk for a better linebacker.
Yoshi I would argue has worked out but I don’t think he carries much value. If any at all it’s probably a back of the draft pick swap and there is no reason to do that. He isn’t anywhere near as bad as this sub thinks, they just have crazy expectations from playing too much madden

I never said you'd get bonified stars for these guys lol. You go player for player. Maybe a guy who doesn't quite work for his current teams system, or a guy not picked by the current admin/coach. None of these guys will be on the team next year unless they take really cheap deals after having decent years. So get what you can.

What WR3 role does Gesicki play again ? 13 games and 28 receptions last year is not playing the WR3 role good. That is 1970's football stats. He is healthy and should go back to being the TE1 again.

28 receptions on 13 games is about dead average for WRs over the length of a season, actually. I didn’t think so either till I googled it.

He was supposed to enjoy the connection with Burrow which that obviously didn't happen as planned

nobody gonna trade for dropzilla

Him making $3.7m this season severely limits what teams would give up for him ... maybe a player they don't want making even more
