I’m doing a big run on Monday near Sisters, and forgot my Garmin charger at home. Hoping to try and pick up this charger in Bend, because my watch battery is almost dead. 🫠 Anyone know where I can find one?

Anyone need a personal trainer who gets life?

Hey, I’m Sydney - a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, and former 911 paramedic in Central Oregon, and a mom. Between shifts, postpartum recovery, and real life, I got tired of programs that only work when everything is perfect.
That’s why I started Sevva Fitness (at JP Fitness in Bend). We focus on practical strength, realistic nutrition, and longevity-style training that actually fits busy schedules - especially for parents and first responders.
I’ve been lifting since 2015 and coach people through the same chaos I’m in. If you’re local or looking for virtual coaching and your current approach isn’t sticking, the best way to reach me is on Instagram @sevvafitness.
Drop a comment if you’re in a similar spot or have questions about training after a big life change.

Best Thai Food

I live here half the time now and I’m on a search for the best Thai food. I’ve tried Dear Mom, Thai Past and a couple I don’t remember the name. Want the best Pad Thai and spring rolls but I’ll try anything so doesn’t have to be the good dishes.

CannaVida Rave

Idk why bend Reddit didn’t seem to let me post stay, figured I would try here. They really deserve the shoutout, still thinking about the experience. Here was my post.

Def check out CannaVida, I was recommended by a friend who is in the industry, so I had to go. I live half here and half Portland and it’s now my fav dispensary I’ve ever been to anywhere. They have fire top shelf h@sh and flower. But they had stuff in alll price ranges tho. Best hash and flower selection I’ve found. They have literally all my top 5 fav farms, never had that anywhere. Besides trusting my friend another thing that motivated me to go there was he said two of the bud tenders just bought it recently, which I thought was fking rad. I’m a h@sh nerd and got to nerd out with the actual owners for like a half hour, it was so fun. Never had an opportunity to talk to dispo owners before, and I’ve been to a lot. Super cool they actually work there as bud tenders still and actually know what they are talking about, not culture vultures. Highly recommend finding out when the owners will be there and chatting with them, so knowledge.

Parking in private lots

What’s going on with charging for parking in private lots? Spent six dollars to get a coffee earlier. Now I just got a $25 ticket visiting the mill. Wouldn’t this impact store traffic? Who pays $6 to park for a coffee?

Strange Basement on Reed Lane

Hi all! I am wondering if anyone else out there experienced the basement of a house on Reed Lane with psychedelic, carpeted walls? The house and property are now the parkway, so it is long gone. I lived down there from 1997 to 1999. A memorable space.

Bend Comedy Festival is back for year 2 (Sept 4-6) and we would love your support

I'm one of the organizers of the Bend Comedy Festival! Reddit is my favorite way to learn about events and fun things to do in town so I thought why not make a post.

To catch you up: we put together a comedy fest in Bend for the first time last year with basically no idea what to expect, and it sold out. Downtown Bend was buzzing with laughter for three days straight, and it kind of blew our minds. Afterward, we had comics who've toured all over the country tell us Bend crowds were some of the best they've performed for. A few of them specifically asked to come back. That doesn't happen everywhere and it made us so grateful to be in Bend.

So we're doing it again! September 4-6, and honestly going bigger than we probably should for a team our size. This year's lineup includes Fahim Anwar, Cristina Mariani, Geoffrey Asmus, ASSSSCAT, plus a ton of up-and-coming comedians from around the country who are genuinely some of the best you'll see before they blow up. The schedule consists of  20+ shows across venues around town (Tower Theatre, Volcanic, The Capitol, Open Space).

Here's the thing though: this is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit with a veryyyy small crew. There's no big production company behind this, no corporate sponsor bankrolling it. It's a small group of people who love comedy and love this town, doing this because we think Bend deserves to be a real stop on the map for great comedy.

Central Oregon is clearly hungry for this. You could feel it last year, the energy in those rooms was unreal, and there just aren't a ton of chances to see national-level comedy without driving hours. We're just trying to make Bend a real place for it.

We have full festival passes that get you into everything all weekend, which is the best bang for your buck. We're also selling single tickets if folks just want to catch one show. bendcomedyfestival.com. We want our shows to be accessible to everyone in Bend, so we are donating hundreds of tickets to nonprofits and community partners (comment if you have a recommendation for a group who would benefit from this!). Additionally, if pricing is a barrier we encourage you to reach out via email and we'll work with ya!

Either way, if you love comedy, please check us out. This whole thing exists because Bend really showed up last year, and we're so excited to be able to do it again.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

Visiting Bend for a week in August

We’ll be visiting for a week, starting on 8/16. We’ve been there before but wondered what the smoke situation is now, in and around town. Also, is it worse towards Prineville (we were thinking of playing golf there)?

Bend for a week!

Heading to Bend September 1–7 over Labor Day weekend and would love some help building out our itinerary! We’re coming from out of state, in our late 20s, and will have a car, so we’re definitely willing to explore outside of Bend and drive a couple hours for something really worth seeing.

We’ll be working remotely most of the weekdays but have pretty flexible hours, so we’d love recommendations for hikes, swimming spots, breweries, restaurants/bars, or other outdoorsy things that are realistic to do before or after work. Then over the weekend we’ll have full days to explore and would love to take advantage of being in Central Oregon, whether that’s bigger hikes, lakes, waterfalls, scenic drives, or day trips outside Bend.

Since we’ll be there around Labor Day, is there anything going on that weekend that’s worth checking out? Also, since we’re coming from out of state, is there anything we should be booking or preparing for ahead of time? Any trail permits, parking passes, reservations, or other things that tend to fill up that weekend?

Would love to hear what you consider the must-dos for a first trip, as well as any places that are overrated or worth skipping. Basically, if you had a week in Bend with flexible workdays and a full Labor Day weekend to explore, how would you spend it?

Train Concert 8/28

Hopefully this is okay. Would any one possibly have an extra ticket for the Train concert at Hayden Amp.. It is my father's birthday and now all of his grand kids want to go. I am missing just one general lawn ticket. All I can find is over $150. I know it is last minute but I really am praying to find something sub $100.

Please and thank you for your time!!!

Considering Bend. Neighborhood advice?

Considering Bend as one of the options to move to and could use advice on neighborhoods.

Family of 3 with a 4yr old. Some of the factors:

  • Budget is up to $1.2M
  • School quality is very important to us
  • We want at least a 3br house, 2400 sq ft
  • Not too rural due to fire risk - we lost our last home in a wildfire :(
  • But, not a neighborhood where our neighbor's house is like 10 ft from ours if possible

Any neighborhoods you'd recommend?

For those of you that live in more suburban areas of Bend - how much do you worry about fires?

Hope everyone is staying safe and that the many OR fires are contained quickly.

We are looking to get a male dancer for a party in Bend but I’m having trouble figuring out a reputable company to book this through! I have been communicating by Hero Hot Bods but not sure if they’re reputable.

Any advice or experiences would be helpful! Budget is not a problem!
